This is just sheer stupidity. I'd bet large amounts of money that if you took a poll in Germany amongst the game's target audience over whether to release RTCW as it is in the US/UK versions or release this dumbed-down version, most Germans would take the US/UK version.
Next time anyone complains about their country's censorship laws, they should think of the Germans, and how much crap they have to go through. Firstly, the humans in UT are changed to robots, now RTCW is dumbed down.
Doing something like this isn't being respectful to Germans, it's insulting them. It's saying "we don't think you can handle Nazis in your games, so we'll play mommy and clean it up for you little Gemmykins". Disgusting. |
