I'd like to say that I am not surprised, although somewhat offended that of all things the news is all-but-almost-blaming-in-at-least-some-part Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000.
I saw that report on NBC. The thing that struck me the most about it was that the computer they were playing it on was getting like 3 frames per second. It was pathetic!
Stories like this, where they show a professional pilot recreating the disaster with MS Flight Sim, are what happens when there's 24 hour media coverage of an event that only has new information to report every 7 or 8 hours (or longer). The rest of the time is filler stuff that's usually fluff pieces unless they're doing a recap or repeating earlier broadcasts.
