Congress' approval rating is somewhere in the single digits. And yet, this guy makes them look good in comparison.

Did you watch it? He's taking the 5th on stuff that he doesn't really need too.

Yeah, I wouldn't take Congress' word on that either. It seemed like a whole lot of "trust us, the DA won't use this against you! It's perfectly fine to answer this innocuous question!" to me.

The trolling description is being applied because of the smirking, eye rolling, and comments like, "I'll take my counsels advice over yours."

But you're right, he totally can do that. But pleading the fifth while being a grinning twat, yeah I'd consider that trolling.

Boohoo. Poor Congress.

I think you misunderstood the point of my reply... You said it wasn't trolling, I'm saying it was. I don't give a tinker's fuck about congress' feelings.

SW, definitely relevant:

Does Congress deserve anything less? They're all in good company as far as I'm concerned.

Don't for a moment think that drug companies or health care spending will be reigned in. They'll have there fun little public witch hunt. The public will be whipped up into a lather. They'll have some pictures of him in handcuffs or something, the public vindicated, and the business of screwing Americans will continue unabated.

Truth. Preach it. Congress just sheds crocodile tears over stuff like this. There are only a handful of good people left there that I can count on my hand, like the brave Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. It's all accelerating towards... something, that's for sure.

I'm not sure why they call it trolling. It's called the Fifth Amendment. As much as our government likes to pretend it doesn't, the Constitution is actually valid for everyone, even asshats like Shkreli.

The FTC has a criminal case pending against him, so OF COURSE he isn't going to answer Congress' questions. Nobody would have.

Now the question is whether Congress will hold him in Contempt of Congress, but that hasn't happened too often.

If King Joffrey were a real person, he'd be Martin Shkreli.

I mean...seriously...how much of an asshole are you when you can make Congress look like the good guys? The government might get the last laugh though. Imagine if he gets all his money taken, comes down with a disease, and then can't afford the medication for it.

That would be horrible.

However we're all screwed anyway with the TPP on the way. Soon most of us won't be economically viable.

Same with patent trolls. They're not trolls. They're just utilizing a broken system for their own benefit. It's not like Congress hasn't had decades in which to change it. Gee, a goverment made up mostly of lawyers like systems that enrich them? Imagine that.

I don't get this guy; is he literally a sociopath, or is he playing it up for some unknown scheme?

Either way I hope his shit leads to a crack down on pharmaceutical price gouging, as well as some serious prison time for more people than just him.

I heard he actually went back to his old high school and tried to impress people. To me, he seems to be this guy that never fit in anywhere, and now that he has money and people putting a mic in front of him, he's trying to prove how awesome he is now...and failing miserably. It's like he tries so hard, it's obvious he's wildly overcompensating.

This guy is going down hard. He's been insulting everyone in the upper echelons of power, and worse he bit the hand that feeds him. He's drawn negative attention back to Wall St. and PhRMA with his shenanigans. They could care less if you're a thief, but if you publicly make them look bad on the other hand....eeesh. Don't be surprised if there's a raid on his penthouse and they find a mountain of blow and some dead hookers in there.

to be fair the securities fraud case against him is pretty slam dunk. reading into it, it seemed to me that his jacking up the prices was a last gasp sociopathic effort to make enough quick cash to pay off his previous scams so the feds wouldn't catch on.
