Out of the Blue

Well, I had some shoveling to do this morning, as expected, but I'm pretty confident that will be it for the foreseeable future. Not putting the shovel away confident, but close. Happy spring!

1.5 trillion dollars later, and this is the only way they can get that piece of shit F-35 in the air!
You'll find me near the front of the line complaining about the F-35, but the article seems to only mention them in a second hand way. They claim the new launch system is designed to cause less wear and tear on all aircraft and the pilots. Which, if true, seems to be a reasonable design goal for a new aircraft carrier launch system.

I was just joking.

Apologies, that doesn't sound right... I'll bring this to the attention of the ad folk. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

The French government making people put plants on the roof is the best thing they have done since their sterling efforts in WWII.

Good on France. It'd be nice if the governments everywhere started to adopt this sort of thing. I think big oil has had enough subsidies and tax loopholes they don't need, thank you very much. Solar panels and wind pods for everyone!

It sounds nice, yes. The road to hell is paved with... As was noted previously here in comments these laws can and do have negative consequences. Hey I know how bad is the environmental damage caused by coal mining and I also see these rooftops producing a huge amount of urban heating. I agree with goal I just question this socialist method "one size fits all" approach.

All I read was a list of facts. I'd like to know what parts of the article qualify as "religion."

I'll grant one thing: climate scientists have been pretty inaccurate. They've continuously underestimated both the pace and severity of global warming over the decades.

You know when that happened I wondered why there was so little AC in France. I don't recall ever reading/hearing about your suggested cause. Not saying you're wrong, just a bit surprised that if true the press didn't spin that angle a little more. I had always written off to some social/cultural thing which I was ignorant of...

France is insane about some things, no doubt about it...;) I recall a few summers back when France had a heatwave and it actually killed some 10,000(!) elderly French residents, all because in its infinite wisdom France had decided to tax home A/C units to the point that only very rich people could afford them. Unbelievable that a government could be so preoccupied with *theories* about what the weather might be in 100 years that it would create conditions today that actually end up killing its citizens. We crawled out of the caves for good reasons...;) Left to its own devices Nature strives endlessly to kill us all--you'd think the French would have some clue about that. But, they don't celebrate free speech, either, go figure. Lots of cultural differences.

I also see that ARS is still rabidly pushing its GW religion...;) Last I saw you could still get the official robes and hoods that are required for their climate-change "meetings"...
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)
