Now he can be a Famed God in prison. I'm sure much lulz will be had. Probably not by him, but his fellow inmates will enjoy him.

This is a thing because you have trigger happy police officers just itching to jump the gun. What kind of country allows this to even be a 'thing'? I was under the impression that the SWAT team is called in only as a last resort by officers already at the scene?

"Prank" calling is a problem not just with police, my friend at local firestation says they have about a 5 prank calls every month. The people in those call centers are specially schooled to detect prank calls, by asking certain questions that when not answered raise all red flags and remember, you call police or firestation you get your call traced... always If mobile phone they can ID you up to a specific street in the cities. And so they can easily see if it's a prank call or not, and from WHERE you call. I guess the US doesn't have such systems in place yet, for whatever reason.

Personally, I think 5 years is about right for something like this.

I doubt that's it for him, when Neff was sentenced he got 5 years for swatting and didn't have the other charges they listed at the end of this article. This guy's facing more than 5 years, it's just 5 for the swatting. He'd be pretty lucky to get away with that sentence.

Aaron Swartz - 35 years for uploading JSTOR docs, JSTOR doesn't even want to press charges. Danger to life and limb: none.

Swatting douchebag - 5 years for swatting because someone called him a bad name on the internet. Repeat offender. Danger to life and limb: high.

Personally, I think 5 years is about right for something like this. And just the time. Ass-rape shouldn't be considered automatically part of the sentence. That's just wrong.

Also, is it just me, or does this look like Jack Black has a long-lost son?

These aholes aren't "pranksters". This is akin to yelling "fire" in a crowded movie theater. The chances of someone getting hurt or killed skyrockets in a SWAT situation. What if the swatted person thought someone was breaking into their home and pulled gun on the cops, or a cop's finger slips on the trigger? Not to mention, how many other people's lives are in danger because a bunch of cops are responding to a non-incident while robberies or homicides are occurring on the other side of town? These guys need a good 5-10 years in prison.

Good. What a fucking punk. 5 years in Pound-Me-In-The-Ass-Prison should serve as a good example for other punks like him.
