Yeah, honestly when Elite:Dangerous and Star Citizen were both announced I was full convinced that Elite:Dangerous would be vaporware and Star Citizen would be moving forward at a fast pace.
Now it seems like the exact opposite is true. I'm super-excited about Elite:Dangerous, and a big 'meh' for Star Citizen.
I felt and feel that exact same way.
3rd-ed.

The fact that it crashed didn't bother me. It's pretty early, so eh, that happens. The fact that he showed up and his shit wasn't even ready to actually GO when he wanted to play, and he had to ask the fat guy "What do I play? What do I click?"
He didn't know shit about his own game. And then they had to spend 15 minutes apparently just getting it ready to go.
Sheesh, that was just about the most inept reveal ever.
But hey, 41 million dollars sure buys a lot of pretty powerpoint slides!

Lol Star Citizen twitch - Christ Roberts is a total clown - power pointed the crowd to death.
hah did you watch the pax reveal.. he sits down to show it off and plays for a few minutes, then the fucker crashes hard and locks up, hes sitting there banging on the keyboard while dramatic orchestral music plays through the PA.. then just sits back and chills out while they try to tech support it for like 10 min
fucking classic man, pure comedy
it looked pretty cool when it was working, but damn.. good luck with this one

You must be joking with that comment right? Inept? Get a life dude; this is a pre alpha, this stuff happen a lot. Yea, he wasn’t able to put up a proper demo, but this in no way makes him look inept. It mealy a setback is all.
When this game is done, it will be a pretty incredible game. But No one should be making a judgment call on a demo that is in very early development.

Ouch. Just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong. That said, the game is still a long ways off and I'm pretty sure they'll fix most of the bugs.
This was on my "watch" list until I watched that live stream. 30 minutes late starting, no ability to skip the cutscene at the beginning (when he crashed the ship and had to restart) which wasted time showing something we'd just seen again, hard-locks, windows popping up...
At this point, CR just looks inept. You always bring your most stable build, even if it doesn't have the latest bells-and-whistles, when you go to show your software off. Which means this IS their most stable build (or all they have). Not encouraging at all...

While I agree with this sentiment in general, I have to disagree when the prices are this high or rather higher than retail. In fact the high price ensures that only people who want to see the game succeed and are passionate about it apply, which would in turn mean that they would also be passionate about reporting bugs and problems.
See, I go the other way on that. If they're fanboy enough to drop that sort of change they're not going to be critical where they need to be. The devs could shit in a bowl and they'd still call it ice cream. Oh sure, there will always be some who will, but most are ponying up the dough to drink the kool-aid.
This is the problem with AoW3 atm. It's terribly unbalanced. So what the hell was the beta for? Oh right, it was the fanboys they picked from the forums to give feedback. And nary a one was critical of this stuff whereas everyone else now is. I'm not even playing the game until this stuff gets addressed.
