Titanfall Cheaters Must Play With Themselves

Or is that each other? Anyway, the Titanfall website announces Respawn's mech shooter's anti-cheating enforcement is now operational (thanks Gamasutra), and those flagged as cheaters are stuck playing with other cheaters "in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests." Here's how this will work:

Q.) So what happens if I get banned?
A.) Great news: you get to keep playing Titanfall! Less-great news: you only get to play with other cheaters. You can play with other banned players in something that will resemble the Wimbledon of aimbot contests. Hopefully the aimbot cheat you paid for really is the best, or these all-cheater matches could be frustrating for you. Good luck.

Q.) If Iím banned, what happens if I make a party with my non-cheater friends?
A.) When anyone in your party is banned, then everyone in your party will be treated as banned for that play session. If you are a non-cheater and you invite a cheater friend into a party, you will be stuck playing against cheaters. If you stop inviting your cheater friend, you will once again get to play with the non-cheater population. You do not get permanently tainted just by playing with a cheater - you are only banned for cheating if you are actually cheating.

Q.) How do I get unbanned?
A.) You can contact anticheat@respawn.com if you think you've been banned unfairly.

My main opponent has no idea what "disseminate" means. I feel completely justified in my assessment.

they should implement a match making system so that teh cloud servers can detect if you're playing drunk and only pair you up with other drunk players. heh.

Par for the course. Someone disseminates your argument and suddenly boohooo its blues posters...boohooo.

yeh it happens a lot and i still dont understand how that is supposed to be some kind of insult or final argument

its one of the most pathetic defense mechanisms of all time

This really IS Genius. Makes you wonder why no other Devs have ever implemented the idea.

Doesn't GTA 5 do this?

Were they doing it with cheaters or just griefers?

Both, and they get thier own pools. Cheaters play with cheaters and greifers play with greifers.

And cheater-griefers who do both go off on their own, kind of like how MMORPGs have normal servers, PvP, RP, and the famed RP-PvP, which I play on.

You must be a lot of fun to talk to in real life.

Personally I don't give a crap whether they ban cheaters or put them in the shithead pool, but the idea of sad little bitches playing in the shithead pool and getting blatantly murdered over and over again by someone with a better aimbot is immensely satisfying, somehow.

How is this a good business decision? I thought gaming companies made tons of money banning accounts and getting people to buy new ones? Interesting. BTW FYI this post is Trolling Free.

Well if you want to get back on the normal servers... you'll have to make a new user and use a new copy. Same as it ever was? Or unless the cheater is happy playing with other cheaters, most probably won't be. If for some reason I were a cheater and got banned, the last thing I'd do would be buy another copy of the same game. Unless money is no object, huge red flags would be going up in my head.

Seriously, if you can't understand why some people would want to make bots, and comepete against others who also have bots, you're one massively uncreative dude.

"Defending cheaters?" Are you fucking joking?

FWIW I understood what you were shooting for, I just happen to disagree

Exactly what I was going to say.

+1 EA for once.

Um.. EA wasn't responsible for this. It was the devs. Fuck EA.

But actually, this is a pretty cool idea. Still won't get me to buy this overpriced, average game, but cool idea nonetheless.

It's under their umbrella. Works both ways with me. Don't worry they are still several 1000 in the hole.

"I am sorry but defending cheaters is a ridiculous stance."

Don`t be sorry for telling someone their stance is ridiculous, if infact their stance IS ridiculous, which it is. ;p Good reply! I think what cheaters NEED is some real cheater competition. what better way to get that competition than by being with those who are like themselves.

The only reason you, as a guy who does not stand to make money off the decision, could have for wanting cheaters to lose the game they paid for is spite, which you should grow out of.

Banishing cheaters to their own league is a very pro-userbase decision. If the assholes buy another account, that just means they're back in gen pop again. There are plenty of dickfaces rich enough to do this over and over again as many times as they're caught, and far more who are willing to do it once or twice. By allowing them to keep on doing what they're doing without bothering the rest of us, we're much less likely to ever see them again.

They aren't all trolls, after all. Some of them simply can't handle not winning. Now those types can rest easy in the knowledge that when they lose, it's not their fault; everyone else they play with really is cheating, just like they always claimed was the case. Others are honestly curious about experimenting to make better bots, and have wanted a game to do this to them since forever.

I am sorry but defending cheaters is a ridiculous stance. It is not 'pro-userbase' at all, it is pro-cheater. If I owned the game and was playing in a match and suspected someone of cheating, it would just add to my suspicions knowing that cheaters are still allowed to play the game. I would think maybe I somehow got flagged without my knowing, or maybe the cheater got flagged but figured out a way around it, all kinds of different scenarios. At least if cheaters were banned, I could rest easier knowing it is rather unlikely that they are cheating.

I also don't think it will keep people from buying the game again, sure maybe some of them, but I can't imagine cheat only servers being fun for more than 1.5 seconds. So if they want to keep having fun they are most likely going to buy the game again anyway, like you said, plenty of rich people who will do it over and over again.

The fact that they 'can't handle not winning' is most certainly not a pass to let them do whatever they want. Cheating, by it's very definition, is playing against the established rules, so it is most definitely something they should be removed from the game for. The fact that they 'can't handle winning' is only going to be amplified when on servers where everyone cheats.

Finally, I have no idea why someone would use a third party game to make their own bots. It would serve absolutely no purpose, unless they were selling the cheat themselves for profit. If it was for experimenting for a game they are making themselves, than just do it in your own game.

Universal approval? Well, release the Doves...World Peace is right around the corner!
The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

Well I can try to speak for the overpriced part at least. There are much better PC games for a lot less. It's priced like a console game. New PC games of late seem to be selling best on Steam in the $30-$40 range. DayZ is a good example of that.
Dayz is only that price for its current Early Access release, it will be more expensive when it hits release (like they did with ARMA3, which started at £19.99 during Alpha and is now £35.99 at full release).

Also, your comparison fails as Titanfall is a polished, finished game whilst Dayz is a buggy, early access turd with very little game content (and, yes, I have hundreds of hours of Dayz MOD time under my belt but gave up on Dayz (for now) after 4 or 5h)!

Cheaters dont deserve ANYTHING other than a kick in the face. Experimenting with AIM bots? Really?

Cheating in a MP game is wrong and unfairto everyone else involved, and cheaters should not be rewarded for cheating. What exactly is Respawn trying to promote here? Hey cheaters, cheat all you want, we will make a SPECIAL league for you!! Do you realize how much that will INVITE cheating to the game? Not to mention the fact that this is EA and Origin we are talking about here, not the most apt in the world when it comes to dealing with issues of cheating. Case in point, every single fucking multiplayer game on Origin...

I was going to ask the same thing. I dont think cheaters should be allowed to play the game in any fashion. This is cutting them some serious slack. Also while this sounds fun on paper, I have trouble believing that this system is 100% fullproof. There will be a lot of false positives and regular people will get stuck in these cheat servers.

These cheater-only servers will likely be very valuable for respawn in their attempts to keep the game balanced. Once they have a cheater in the pool they then have a special environment set up on that server to monitor the players more closely and better dissect the current hacks. Sounds like a smart move that could pay off if they utilize this resource instead of just have it as some kind of punishment.
