Out of the Blue

March 21st will be the 10th anniversary of the first episode of Deadwood, which remains one of my favorite shows of all time, in spite of its abbreviated three-season run. To celebrate the folks at rogerebert.com created A Lie Agreed Upon (thanks Ant via Digital Bits), an essay on the series which is completely going to inspire me to re-watch it from the beginning.

You only need 2 pages for stash now. Drops are so good you don't need to hold anything, maybe a few things. But 1 page dedicated to pages and unique items (foot, bell, etc), gems, and materials and 1 page for unique stuff. Everything prior to Loot 2.0 is garbage.
Well, you are right about previous loot beginning bait for enchanting materials. Which is only going to be repeated again when the expansion comes out. Everything you have now, will get replaced. However, if you build one of each character, and want different builds that require different gear -- which is kind of one of the main things about Diablo, right? Then there is not enough room for gear. Yes, if you pick a character and play it unendingly in the same way, the stash is big enough.

Now granted, I'm not out of space yet because I've only been playing for three week (as of today) and I only have two 60's each with only one build so far -- but I see the problem coming down the road. And as I said before, if PoE can literally have hundreds of tabs, Blizzard should be able to figure out how to charge me $20 for another one if I want it. If you don't want it, great!

I can't say, as I've never played Red Dead Redemption. GASP! But it is only available on console.

That's about what I'm seeing, as well.

My biggest gripe so far -- the stash. Come on Blizzard, with PoE I can literally have hundreds of tabs. Let me buy some more tabs -- you like that micro-transaction stuff now.

I heard the expansion gives at least one more...not that a single one would make a huge difference.

I'm sure the 20 bucks in storage and back-up costs they saved with that decision made Bobby Kotick hard as a fucking rock.

Speaking of Bobby, I'm still puzzled by his acting role in Moneyball. He came on and I'm like "Is that? Noooo...fuck, it is!"

would like to give to some of my friends and I cant.

Don't even bother worrying about this, they are getting the same awesome drops that you are, but on a more regular basis for their character. The odds of finding a real good piece of gear for a different class that would actually be better than gear they found themselves is pretty low at this point.

PVP was kinda already patched in (brawling)? There are also tons of +skill items, not sure why you'd need more?

Tombstone is on.......

In case you missed it - D3 is 19.99 at Blizz right now. Can't complain at that price point! Loot 2.0 is a really nice change.

I was listening to the DLC podcast last night, and they said that Loot 2.0 makes D3 into D2. Would you go that far?

Closer....but bound legendaries. I am working on my lower level dudes, and every few minutes I am gettin drops to replace stuff - that didn't happen before. Legendaries are dropping every few minutes, and almost all drops are for the character I am playing. I went through all of my gear and sold or salvaged. Everything pre Loot 2.0 is worthless....

That sounds cool. I quit D3 about 10 hours in to play PoE instead. Maybe I'll give it another try now. Now would be best, given the double xp and stuff they're doing. Thing is, I'm RIGHT in the middle of playing BL2, and having a blast (speaking of Diablo).

That's the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard. Diablo 3 isn't even in the same galaxy as Diablo 2. Is it fun, sure: as a standalone game with no relationship beyond cosmetic to its namesake.
