Outrise Revealed

An Outrise website is online to keep us informed about Outrise, an upcoming indie action game which will feature 15 on one asymmetrical multiplayer. Developers include vets of Hawken, Assassin's Creed 2, and Call of Duty series developers, and while this is currently self-funded, their may be a Kickstarter campaign in its future. Word is: "Outrise is very early in development and we are taking this opportunity to share our vision for the game with the community. Outrise is a game about multiplayer boss fights and asymmetrical gameplay. Remember reaching the giant boss at the end of a level? Now imagine that boss was controlled by your friend or someone online. We think of it as a multiplayer Shadow Of The Colossus meets Left 4 Dead and with old school sci fi look and feel." There are more details on this on Eurogamer after an exchange with Team Outrise creative lead James Wearing, who explains how this will differ from other recently announced asymmetrical MP games and fills in some further details on gameplay.

Then you haven't watched a lot of movies. I'd say cartoons like classic transformers and movies like pacific rim have grade A robot design.

Pacific rim

A few of the robots in the realistic transformers movies aren't too shabby either.

Or he doesn't like giant robots that look like people. I know I'm in that camp. ED-209 looks like a machine made to wreck faces. I didn't see Pacific Rim, but the robots from the shots on the IMDB page look to me like machines made to collect trick or treat candy.

It's probably not a coincidence that they start pushing this after Turtle Rock gets a Game Informer cover about their upcoming game that is almost exactly the same concept.

That was another option for mmo's imo. For instances allow people to login and sign up for monster duty. Where you get to play baddie against the main group. But no, lets do the same shit over and over and over and over. MMO's do suck until they make some type of shift in game play.

EQ1 had that option. You could login and play as a rat and kill new players. Was fun with a group of people.

Sounds like another awesome game idea that will peak early and be surpassed while something else comes out to takes its place because it was in development for too long
