Any recommendation for wheels that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
The G27 looks great but it is way out of my price range.

Keep an eye on Newegg as they are always putting the G27 on sale. There really isn't anything cheaper with such quality. Maybe the Logitech Momo?
It is on sale right now at Memory Express here in Canada for $199 but it is sold out and even $199 is a little too rich for my blood.
I understand that it is a superb quality wheel but the amount of racing games I play I don't think this would be a great investment for myself.

We'll see how the wheel I've ordered will work out, as it seems like the very best option for my usage. Hope it won't suck!

Thanks

Sadly, no.
Thanks, to bad it sucks. What else should we expect from ea. What's weird at least according to the wiki about dlc is that even now 4 years later some packages are still exclusive to psn. Annoyed

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

Once I got a couple deliveries under my belt, I was able to sit back in the chair, hit up the radio (took a bit mapping all the controls I need how I like) and drive single handed like for realz. Some of the stops can get some congested traffic, waiting to turn. YEAH THAT'S SOMETHING I LOVE!!! lol

I know it's a sim, that could be it's knock for me, great, I'm on the road driving again, yipee! Like right now I'm not really wanting to just go out and realistically drive around for the sake of driving. On the bright side I'm saving $3.50 a gallon in game!

As a sim, it does great, you can really drive from A to B and you can control it not to go off the road, hit something a little here or there. No you can drive it like a BOSS, like the real thing. I suppose that's the good and bad of it and I'm much more about realistic handling vs arcade. It's just when you are going 150+ against competition, that is the catch for me. This is like I know the outcome even if I breakdown, which I haven't yet, but I see that is possible or I'm running low on gas. ALL THE GREAT THINGS IN LIFE I TELL YAH! So am I out here just seeing the sites? Which leads to the question, since I'm not from Europe, is their any decent accuracy in the sites in this game? Can I get a good European Vacation out of this? snickers...

The challenge is that I'm about 50-50 backing up right now, I give it a couple tries then say "fuck it" and press Enter.

FWIW I'm using a Logitech Driving Force and a Nostromo, lots of buttons to press in this one.

I don't know why but Euro Truck 2 is extremely cathartic. The mrs makes fun of me every time I play it because I drive a thousand miles or more per week for work then come home and play a game based around commercial driving.

Huh? I'm sorry, I was thinking about cake.

Anybody have any feedback on "Remember Me" based on actual playing experience? Seems to be a fairly polarizing game judging by the various forums I have been too. Not since Mirror's Edge have I seen so many people disagree about so many basic topics in a single game. I have watched the gameplay videos, I like what I see. I am just concerned that after five minutes I have seen the whole game.

It's a fairly mediocre brawler with mediocre platforming. The setting is cool and the presentation is pretty slick though. The memory remixes are the most interesting part of the game but there are only 4 of them. For $10, the game is worth a look.

Thanks man, I will throw some money at them.

Yes there is a mounting hole in the middle, so you can mount it onto a console if you wanted.
Doesn't take much to rig up a home made stand if I wanted to.

I know what you mean about no base and no feedback.
I was using the Microsoft wireless wheel on my 360 for years and I am used to the feel of the wireless wheel.
I've had the desk version of the wheel before the one you attach to your desk and while the FF was nice it was a pain in the ass to assemble and put away every time so I just ended up not using it as much.

This wheel looked like a win win for me. I know everyone is different and some people prefer the FF and desk mounted wheel and if I'd play racing games a lot more I probably would opt for one of those but for the convenient point of view this seemed like a better option for me.

I will definitely let you guys know how it is ones I get to use it a bit.
I miss driving with a wheel, I haven't played my console for a long time and I have a shit load of racing games on the PC like F1, Dirt, Grid etc that better be played with a wheel then a controller.

Still looks better than a gamepad! It looks like there is an screw inset on the back... I wonder if someone has rigged or selling a simple base device to add to this. There are a lot of options with this offering. You get shifter flaps and analog gas/break flaps. That's sweet.

I barf when I see people playing a racer with a game pad along with playing behind the car. It's me. But damn it you have something you can really simulate well it is this. Get in car, use the real view and get the proper device. It becomes quite immersive. Not that you can't do all this with a console, but this is also a part of being PC Master Race, it's a hobby.

BestBuy has the SteelSeries Simraceway Steering Wheel on sale for $59.99 ($50 off), ended up grabbing that.
Checked out some reviews and they seem to like it.
I can always return it if it doesn't work out for me.

What I don't like about that one is there is no base. It's like a wii or kinect with holding in hand and going left/right. It just isn't the same, you lose tactical feel of the road without the FF as well. I'd have considered it if I needed one if it had a base.

Now what I do like is it is easy to handle, I have to setup the wheel each time on my desk to play. Not huge, but nice.

Let us know how it is...

Here is what I got and what I'd still recommend over the item mentioned here:
Logitech Wheel

I probably will not have it until the sale is over.
Local store did not have any in stock so it will be shipped to my place.
Also I am not sure if it is on sale in the US. It is on sale here in Canada.

For the cheap and my preference.... Logitech Driving Force. You'll have to buy it used Amazon/Ebay, but you are talking well under a fifty. What I like about it, works in everything, force feedback, lots of buttons, analog paddles behind the wheel. I much prefer those over peddles, less room and your fingers can feather gas/breaks much better than a foot. To me it's a competitive advantage.

It has the features, it's is well enough made, have had mine for many years now, had others way back in the day. It's not a $200 unit, but it is competitive with them when it's rubber on the road. It's WAY better than a controller. It's equally as much better vs a controller as FPS are better with k/m vs controller. Any wheel will make you want to play "driving games" that much more. Had "racing games" in there, but then I thought Euro Truck Driver, had to correct! lol

That's cool. You can look at the world map and see it's abbreviated in road details. But to have basic landmarks, that is all I would ask. So I'll have to go to see the sites, perhaps a reason to get the expansion to.

One thing which I really enjoyed is how accurate the roads are, appearance-wise. You can really tell when you switch from Holland to Germany, because it changes from asphalt to concrete. The Autobahn feels real, whereas if you drive through eastern europe, the roads seem of a lower quality (even if that isn't actually modeled.)

But all the exit signs, road markings etc, are all accurate. Helps with the feel.

The challenge, do you think driving on the roads normally is any type of challenge?

I don't really play a Sim for the challenge, but I find keeping that 25 ton truck on the road and within the lines to be tough enough that you can't just snooze your way through. It just 'feels' like actually driving a truck to me (only ever did that once, so can't really judge it that well, but it feels pretty accurate.)

Of course, I play with a controller, which is probably quite a bit more difficult than playing with a wheel.

Is this another can't wait title for the Oculus Rift?

RPS had a small demo video of playing it on the Oculus, and it looked pretty damn awesome, yeah.

Oh yeah, reminds me... I need to play with some more external AA settings. Driving games you get those long lines, the in game AA is so-so. Should be cleaner.

There's plenty of mods that fix the traffic AI, they're definitely worth a look.
