Project Ascender Revealed

Joystiq has word by way of LinkedIn of a new "top secret next-gen game for PS4 and PC" in the works at Interceptor Entertainment (Rise of the Triad) called Project Ascender. What they've pieced together is that this is due next year, and 3D Realms' Scott Miller is one of the 19 members of the development team. But remember, it's a secret. Shhhh.

RotT remake was a big disappointment. Hope this fares better

I had fun with it.

Obviously not an AAA title graphics-wise, and the gameplay was "dated", but then again, that was the point.

I don't think some people understand that some of us WANT gameplay that is dated.

I enjoy my BF4, don't get me wrong. But I really, REALLY want an old, skillbased, learn the maps and powerups location, twitch, crazy weaponed, Quake/UT style dated gameplay arena FPS.

No setting up your kits with the most overpowered weapons and attachments you have. Just go, start with your pistol, make do with the first weapon you can grab.

Spawncamping FTW. I had a friend who was a Quake1 god. I swear the guy could spawn camp Q1Dm4 till kingdom come. He regularly beat me 21-0. It was fucking freaky.

It should have stayed secret UNTIL IT'S DONE.
Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it.

Whaddyamean "next year"? Whatever happened to the concept of "when it's done" and freestyle ramming the company into the ground in the process? Has Miller grown the fuck up or what is this shit?!?

and we know it's gonna take Forever to come out... it's slated to come out on PS4 but they'll probably scrap the engine and redo it for PS5, and then PS6, until they're dead and Gearbox buys it and releases the turd.
