At least ms is trying to save face while google just blatenly passes your data around to anyone who will pay for it, including nsa. Your gmail, Andoid phones, everything you type into Chrome, etc, etc. Yet the smelly Hipsters still continue to bash ms (because that's what smelly Hipsters do) when google just goes along their merry way doing what they want with your data without even telling you and you don't give it one thought. LOL!

It's one thing to hand over those things you get an official request for. It's another thing entirely to then just voluntarily tell the NSA you will happily compromise the security of your entire email and video-conferencing system for them.

Since they did that without ever being officially instructed to, everything else they do since then, including their "strong" conviction they will take the government to court when they ask for Kinect data, has been pure grandstanding.

Examples like Lavabit and Silent Circle have show that you will get prosecuted and/or run out of business if you don't hand over full access to any public communication you host while on US soil. I imagine the rules are the same here in the UK. Why bother with claims like this that can't possibly be true? It just indicates that you are not even trying to be sincere.

Why would the founding fathers be ashamed of criminals that have since usurped the government they established? They knew what to do in such situations. They rose up in armed revolution. If they were ashamed of anything, it would be of their descendants who meekly accept such circumstances.

Trying to save face MS? You already gave them the encryption keys for all your Operating Systems so why would this be any different? I'm calling bullshit on this.

What a joke. They've already compromised all their systems for the NSA, so adding stronger encryption isn't going to do shit. You could turn on fractal 80 dimension encryption and it won't mean a thing when the people spying have access to the sytem doing the encryption.

More tough-guys-after-the-fact posturing from MS. Trust them with your data, everyone! Trust your little kids to stand in front of Kinect too.

does seem really bass-ackwards that they have to encrypt data from an agency for whom it's supposedly illegal to gather data anyway. still can't believe all this nonsense is constitutional. if someone asked the ghosts of thomas jefferson or george washington their opinions, i'm sure they'd hang their heads in shame.

Lol MS! Yeah until what? The very moment they command you to hand over the keys?

My thought as well...

Lol MS! Yeah until what? The very moment they command you to hand over the keys? Save your time and money with this BS PR garbage. I still can't wait to see the first confirmed report of the NSA watching people through the Spybox's Kinect.
