Of course the PS4 is sitting in the same boat right now.

Take this as you will, we'll see if it's actually true.

"Sufficient supply" probably means something different to Sony than it does to consumers. I mean at this point you can't pick a random store that carries game systems and just expect to find the PS4 sitting on a shelf. If you really wanted one you pre-ordered it otherwise I suspect the chances of finding either console in a store is going to be pretty hit-and-miss through the holidays. Which I don't really mind since nothing in either console's exclusives list at launch screams "gotta have it!"

Here's a fun flashback.

Yeah, it's tough to remember the cocky arrogant Sony of yesteryear.

Yeah because no one has been pre-ordering them!

If you "pre-ordered" the non-launch day XBox One package from Amazon (which they referred to as the XBox One "standard edition") your estimated date of arrival is sometime in January. So I'd say they've already sold their launch stock and probably several weeks of stuff that hasn't even been built yet. Of course the PS4 is sitting in the same boat right now. I'm not really expecting to pick up either system until next year sometime when the worthwhile exclusives start to arrive.

Nah its already sold out everywhere. Of course they had a lot of supply problems which might explain that but I'm sure both consoles will sell out in the short term. I'm curious to see if this gen will have the same level of growth because the industry is in trouble if the trends of the past few years continue.

Well in my circles gaming is as popular as ever. Speaking from my own personal POV, I'm getting tired of games shipping half finished, with half the content missing only to be sold as DLC later on. As well as the lack of original IP...I.e devs no longer taking risks and churning out the same old tired COD' and the like. Something is going to give.

Prices are always on the increase with every sodding console cycle.

That's why PC gaming IMHO is on the increase, it's a very attractive platform. Especially since this new gen of consoles has fallen short specs wise.

Gaming on PC is much cheaper with the likes of steam offering regular deals and retail outlets selling games a good £20-30 cheaper than its console counterparts. AND you get the better overall experience....providing Ofc that the game in question isn't some half assed console port.
Trent Reznor - Atticus Ross an incredible team.

I would so get Tomb Raider for the PS4. One of my favorite games this year.

Ya ok I see that now...

When your PS4™ arrives, just look for the PS4™ Digital Upgrade version of the game on PlayStation Store – it will appear in the 'PS3 to PS4' section of the PlayStation®Store on your PS4™ Free of charge. Just download it and start playing!

... looks like free from that blurb. But it's just free to DL after you purchase it, marketing doublespeak.

Yeah, that's horribly worded, on their part.

Not sure if it's been posted already but I noticed in the PSN store if you own a copy of a game on the PS3 and that game comes out on the PS4 you'll be able to DL the PS4 version for free.

They have an upgrade program, but it's only certain titles and they're $10 a pop. And you need the ps3 disc in the drive to play.

There are actually some PSN games like Flower where you can get a free PS4 version if you own it already on the PS3. Not sure how many though.

Quite looking forward to the X/X2 HD remaster. Definitely my favorite FF after 3 and (strangely, I know) 8.
