Formicide Announced

Rock Wall Games announces development of Formicide, a 2D multiplayer platformer featuring bloodthirsty ants inspired by games such as Quake, Unreal Tournament, Worms, and Liero. The plan is to release this next year for Windows, and they are running a Greenlight campaign to get the game onto Steam. Here's a livestream trailer showing off gameplay and a newer teaser trailer with more, and here's a feature list:

  • Online multiplayer. Blow up ants anywhere in the world.
  • Multiple game modes. Deathmatch, capture the flag, and more.
  • Dozens of weapons. Blow your colleagues away with guided seeker missiles, or get up close and personal with a shiv.
  • Tons of skins. The age-old question of what a fight between a pirate ant and a cowboy ant would look like is finally answered.
  • Unique environments. Ever wanted to be able to use a flamethrower underwater? Now you can, for some reason!
  • Destructible terrain. Terrain is destructible!
  • Fully moddable. Modify any part of the game, including weapons, maps, game modes, player skins, and basically anything else.

Greenlight campaign and they haven't even started on it yet? Rolleyes

Hi! I'm Michael, the programmer of Formicide. You may have missed the in-game footage and screenshots. They can be found here:

Trailer and screenshots on the Formicide homepage
Trailer, additional screenshots, and a 24 minute recording of a live stream on the company site
Greenlight page, containing the trailer, screenshots, and live stream mentioned above

Sorry for the confusion!

What do you mean? There is gameplay video.

Cutter is actually a bot that just posts negative shit at random from a database. Sometimes the pattern recognition fails and it posts something nonsequiter.

If you don't like where gaming is heading, stop giving your money to the people who are taking it in that direction.
