Nice to know prices will be the same for both sales, so you could actually scout the autumn sale, then lineup your purchases for Holiday sale.

As clearly noted in the leaked email...Valve doesn't set the prices, so they are not to blame if the discounts aren't up to your standard.

Yup, gotta agree there. I'm assuming Valve isn't too happy about GMG and others pretty heavily undercutting them, but they have to charge the price that the dev/publisher tells them too.

That's kind of a dick move to publish the dates. Now competitors can get the jump on Steam.

Eh, valve needs a kick in the pants to be competitive anyway. Their last few holiday sales haven't been that great, and they get undercut anyway.

I agree. Same with their client needing a massive overhaul too. They've been resting on their laurels far too long because there's no real viable alternative. At least we're seeing it with sales now from GMG, Gamefly, etc.
Yeah, Steam is so slow, bloated, and sometimes buggy. Ugh.

The details on the email about how Steam works regarding the sales is also interesting. Someone is going to get shitlisted by Valve though.

Steam holiday sale start date (allegedly) leaked

Oh, god, no...my wallet isn't ready for that abuse. Even after pruning my list before the summer sale, I'm back up to 50 on the wishlist again...
