And if developers backed down every time someone squawked about something offensive to them in a game we'd all still be playing Minesweeper and Spider Solitaire.

Except that they would have to remove the word "Spider." Someone would complain that it's offensive. To flies.

Most of the time you have kids in something like this it seems like an attempt to shock. Definitely not all the time, but much if not most.

Heh, remember all the outcry over no kids in Oblivion? Man, I hated the kids in Skyrim.

Don't really see a problem with it. Entertainment media has lots of disgusting things in it, and some of it involves things happening to kids.

Now you might have an argument if they took your likeness or your kid's likeness and put it in the game for people to blow away. Because eventually it'll get to where people will be able to easily insert the likeness of whoever into games....then it's going to be super fun legal battle times.

The point being it adds nothing to the game and stirs controversy. The games industry gets enough grief as it is these days, why add to it?

Personally no big deal, but perceptions are everything and the game industry is under a microscope right now, why stir the pot?

Like I said braindead developers who can't think beyond the tip of their nose.

Or you could read the statement from the developer and understand exactly what it adds to the game. If you have already read it and still don't understand then I would wager that you're the braindead one.

There have been children zombies/monsters in games since forever. They are often a centerpiece in horror movies too.

They are supposed to be unsettling. That's the point.

Yep. One of the most powerful scenes in "The Walking Dead" game involved an infected child. People who don't like it don't have to play, but they don't have the right to dictate to developers what they can and can't put in their games.

It's actually the first scene of the first episode. And it's to say, "This isn't your father's zombie apocalypse show."

To anyone watching that clip who hasn't seen the show please understand that that isn't the original audio (sounds like L4D).

Why are people suddenly protesting this? Especially for an indie/converted mod release... as you guys said, other games, especially AAA games such as Dead Space 2, not only used zombie kids but zombie babies, if you want to get specific, with no protests.

Separate fiction from reality.

All that said, ugh another zombie game.

Have to disagree, the game should not even be on steam. There is no point in using zombie children, developers are just being stupid and supporting stupid developers is braindead.

Disregard what the creator has said... Ozmodan hath spoken!
