How the fuck do you award 2013 games when there's still more than 2 months left in the year and a bunch of major releases aren't even out yet?

These awards win my "Even More Worthless Than The Rest Of The Worthless Awards" award.
Yeah, that pisses me off for any end of the year stuff.

There's a tablet version of XCOM:EU?

Yeah. Priced a bit high for me (already owning it on the PC anyway), but it is said to be quite good. I am hoping to pick it up on a sale at some point.

Best Online Game
World of Tanks

When a P2W tank game wins the "Online Game of the Year" award, you can bet golden joystick has become obsolete. OOOhh!

Of course, might just be that online games and player expectations have become crap since I still prefer TF2 and PoE to anything in recent years.

It is good. A little cut down visually and with some of the larger maps, but it's otherwise the full game.

It's on iOS only, but supposedly it rocks.

Mark of the Ninja was released in Oct 2012.

How'd it win for Indie game of 2013?

Because what you and everyone else here is missing, is that they've defined their own year-long time period here. Like a fiscal year vs. calendar year, starting and ending in October. The games coming out in November and December will be included in next year's nominations.

Am I the only one who finds putting "in association with xxx" into the title of each award to be really annoying? Took me a moment to realize that "Most wanted in association with Playfire" means this is the award for the game they are most looking forward to.

Yeah, totally agree with previous posts; the year's not even over, and it's all just a primer for the Holiday Season. What a bunch of crap!!!

The most interesting thing is that GTA V won as Game of the Year, considering that voting began in June, ended in mid October, and GTA V was released in mid September. I don't think that would be possible without tons of people voting for GTA V as Game of the Year without even playing it.

It gets even more interesting if you think that a considerable part of GTA V - GTA Online - only went live on October 1st, and had significant issues for the following two weeks.

1. GTA fanbois are rabid.

2. GTA sold more games in three days than any other game did the rest of the year.

3. Games released during the voting period are at an advantage since they're prominent in people's minds. The studios know this as well, and release films they think will win Oscars in December.

I like their timing given that Xmas is coming up.

Also, it's a good way to get attention, putting them out now instead of Jan 2014 like everyone else.

What a joke. And games that don't apply to all 3 major platforms shouldn't even be nominated.
