Funny, back in high school I was bored one day and ended up writing a short game on my TI-82 graphing calculator that ended up getting me suspended.

Not saying it's a valid excuse, but I can understand.
What the heck? Because of not paying attention?

I always tell my kids boredom is a wonderful gift that makes people be creative. Without boredom there would be no creativity.

Yeah, why couldn't he channel that boredom into something constructive? If he was a basement dwelling nerd hacker that was his choice. He got off easy and he still sounds like a punk.

Yeah, but every teenager is bored. It doesn't matter where you live, as a teenager it's boring to you.

No argument here. I grew up in a major metropolitan area and yup, bored. Like I said, no excuse I just I found that interesting.

Do we need to have after school programs to keep hackers out of trouble?

Well, 30 years in the fucking clink should alleviate that boredom. Bubba will make sure you have some soap to pick up every single day.
