Ah! I see now. I missed "two Origin copies" part.

Yes, but he's saying you get TWO Origin copies for each of those games, because of EA's "activate your Steam key for our games here and use us instead" policy.

I haven't bought the bundle, I have no problem with Origin, I'm just not interested in the games. I read on another forum that with the games in the bundle that are redeemable on Steam, you can right click the game in Steam, view CD key, and use that key to activate yet another Origin copy. Basically you get a Steam key and two Origin keys.
You don't even have to do that, when you buy the bundle it gives you the keys for both copies.

The write-off and the goodwill. But it doesn't matter WHY they did it, the fact is that they did it, which is commendable.

It's a good pack, too, and the money goes to some worthy causes.

Don't kid yourself the only reason EA did that was for the write off.

If you haven't played Evil Genius yet, you really should. It's basically Dungeon Keeper meets Austin Powers.

Yeah, and they get more Origin installs which is probably more valuable to them in the long run. But whatever. I bought it for $1.01 and will not install Origin to play the one non-Steam game (Dead Space 3). I have such a backlog of games if I ever feel like playing it it won't be for five years and by then maybe EA and/or Origin will be history.

I know we hate on EA a lot, and not undeservedly. But I do want to give props out to them for their Humble Bundle. Usually with such a bundle, the default settings are to give most to the devs, and a bit to charity, unless you manually change it. With their bundle, it ALL went to charity. None for EA. I find that pretty admirable.
