Out of the Blue

Yesterday I paid the price for wearing the flimsy surfer shoes I recently mentioned re-discovering after a long search. I was walking the pooches when I managed to bang my foot against a protruding bit of sidewalk, giving myself a nasty pain on the ball of the foot right where the big toe is attached. This turns out to be a spot that gets a lot of wear-and-tear that one doesn't think about until it hurts, but it bears a lot of weight when I walk, and is the *exact* spot that depresses the clutch when I drive. At least it's my left foot, so my ass-kicking foot is still in order, and I'm ready if any NFL teams come calling for a placekicker, but I'm basically a gimpy mess at the moment.

You're aware Obama and Holder and company expanded the patriot act beyond how it was originally implemented right?
I know, right? Bush argued against and voted against the Patriot act! Oh, wait.

Was it wrong when Bush enacted the thing? Yes yes it was. It's been even worse expanded by a democrat with delusions of narcissism.
I know, right? Obama flew that jet onto that aircraft carrier and gave that "Mission Accomplished" speech, he was so full of hubris! Oh, wait.

I think the difference between the two is I never feared the idea of Bush or the Republicans wanting some form of totalitarian control.
I know, right? When Obama had all those people kidnapped, and illegally moved to black sites, and tortured, and started that program to monitor everyone's email and phone calls! Oh, wait.

I fear that constantly with Liberals.
I know, right? Liberals have enacted some of the most totalitarian laws in the US: Women's suffrage, Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, Social Security, gay marriage. Oh, wait.

It's not hard to see who Obama's surrounded himself with his entire life, from the racist reverend who's church pews he sat in for 20 years, to the Bill Ayers types and so on.
I know, right? Don't forget Obama is best buds with that homophobic Billy Graham. And he looked into Putin's eyes and saw his soul. Oh, wait.

I'll ask again how's that Hopey changy shit working out for you?

Not as well as I'd hoped given that the Republicans block all of his initiatives, even ones proposed by Republicans themselves.

Diversionary tactic: I see that Worms Clan Wars came out. Despite being a PC only release it's built on the Revolutions engine that was multiplatform and I read that the things I hated in that (30fps for worm animations and movement, input delay) are still in which is a big disappointment. It's also very similar to revolutions from what I can see.

If you have a recent Worms title I would suggest skipping this. If you care about PC titles being optimised for the platform or the physics and feel of the game being snappy then I would skip it too. If your social/family group loves the series then I suspect the magic recipe is still in there somewhere underneath the bullshit additions but for me this again is not the killer title that the series needs to make it essential again.

Edit: also interesting to note that Team 17 closed down their public/support forums. It's necessary to go to the steam forum to discuss your problems now. I guess they got/fear another backlash...

Imagine what could happen if the time and energy put towards comparing the worst of the two parties (who have 90% identical policies anyways) went instead toward supporting the few people on each side trying to undo the mess and aren't currently getting the support they need?

Really? To me it was rather clear. They did everything they possibly could towards that end. They terrorized the country and they terrorized the world.

Yeah well he's surrounded by industry and insiders, the exact opposite he said he'd do. It was a lie from the beginning. I didn't believe his BS. To me he's a transparent pathological liar.

Yeah the hopey changy or yes we can rhetoric... It's condescending. Really is the general public this gullible, stupid and so easy to control? I guess so. All thanks to government run education.

Right, because you live in a bubble detached from reality like the rest of your ilk. When the GOP does it, it's just good government. When the Democrats do it, it's evil! Even though most of us our left of center we still call the Dems on their bullshit, so why can't you manage the same? Oh right, because you live in a bubble. Yeah, all Bush's presidential signing statements, Nixon trying to rig an election, all the needless wars they start for fun and profit, etc. etc. etc. Yeah, the GOP has no interest in a totalitarian regime.

The Patriot Act was going to turn America into a fascist nation. Well, it hasn't happened -- despite the weird fantasies of the insane Left who talk as if it had.

We've had, for seven years, a President who has thought carefully and sought a balance between compelling opposites. We had to find a way to effectively find terrorists before they acted, without wrecking the Constitution. So President Bush asked for the tools he needed in the Patriot Act, and used other tools that other Presidents had used, including Democrats, and it worked. So far, anyway.

I'd say Card needs to go back and read his own rants from 6 years ago, but I seriously doubt that would produce any enlightenment. I think he is the epitome of what is wrong with politics in this country. So blinded by ideology, right and wrong is only determined by us or them.

OSC is a total loon with nothing relevant to say outside of fiction, people should really just ignore him.

I used to drive only manuals but since we moved closer to the city where I commute I decided it wasn't worth it anymore. I miss it when we're driving on the weekends but I sure as hell don't miss it during the work week. I think it's an important skill people should learn though, I even have my tow motor/FL license

Except for a brief 6 month period, all my cars have been manuals since 1980. But I have to say, I'm thinking this might be my last. Should need a new car around 2020 or so... I might finally cave.

Based on the extreme pain, I'm guessing I tore a ligament connected to my big toe years ago. Took about a month to heal, and the first time I put weight on it (walking), I just about fell over (losing my balance), the pain was so extreme.

You have my sympathies...

Wow, so not only is Blue a 'Vette driver, he drives stick too! I have to say that from a European perspective, I find this very impressive.

Also, OSC should really learn to STFU. Comparing Obama to Adolf Hitler?? Sometimes I think that this dude has some serious mental health issues, like a split personality disorder or something. I cant connect his strange views to his literary work.
