PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures in October

NAMCO BANDAI announces an October 29th release date for PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures, the return of the hyperactive little pill-popper:

We are pleased to announce that NAMCO BANDAI Games’ beloved yellow chomping hero will be making his revamped and boisterous return to gaming in PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures on October 29th, 2013 the Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Wii U™ System and STEAM; while the Nintendo 3DS™ version will be available on November 26th, 2013.

PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures is a bustling and bonkers world of action, adventures and wackiness featuring the Pacster and his teenage friends working together to free Pac World from the threat of Betrayus and the netherworld ghosts. After the summer premiere of the TV animation series on Disney XD, PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventures quickly claimed top TV rankings as the #1 daily show among Boys ages 6-11 on Disney XD. Against this demographic, the show also became the #4 daily show in the U.S. and the only Disney XD daily show in the Top 6.

I guess after Wreck It Ralph, Pacman is cool again.

BTW, if you haven't seen that movie you owe it to yourself to watch it. Twice. I'd suggest buying the BRD sight unseen. It's that good.

I really did enjoy that one (I love John C Riley!), but I wish they'd spent less time in candy crush or whatever the fuck it was (and shown us other games)...hopefully the sequel will branch out a bit.

Spotting all the shoutouts to various games was awesome...

Does this game do something that ROM's cant?

It doesn't sound anything like it's going to be anything like the original arcade game. Just as well, as wakka-wakka-fruit would be a tough sell these days to the 6-11 crowd.
