Never heard of him, but yeah, real journalists are a virtually extinct species these days. Then again, most of the public only wants sex and candy anyway.

Real, actual journalists are pretty rare these days. Usually what we're given is TV personalities more interested in protecting their million dollar salaries and hobnobbing with the powerful. Hastings was the real deal. He wrote some amazing articles with real impact and didn't care if he pissed off the powerful doing it in his short time here.
