Call of Duty: Ghosts Tech Trailer

Deep Silver announces DLC plans for Metro: Last Light and also confirms plans for a Season Pass to allow new video from Call of Duty: Ghosts offers a tech comparison between the new installment in the Call of Duty series and Modern Warfare 3. Here's word: "Call of Duty: Ghosts brings lifelike characters and immersive worlds together on a new, next-generation engine. Side-by-side graphical comparisons show the advances made from Infinity Ward's last release, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3."

The Quake 3 engine is still one of the most stable and efficient engines. Especially when the open source crowd fixes the exploits and bugs.

So is this "new engine" just good old Quake 3 with an improved graphical renderer on top or something completely new? Also while those faces look cool, can they actually do facial animations to convey feelings or are they as static as the puppet faces in Bioshock Infinite? Not that I imagine that facial animations really matter much in a game like this ;).

lol, i was also thinking the same.

so the next game will have seal team 6 cats? (with 9 lives!)

that model asset really pushed the limit of what was capable one and a half years ago (when MW3 was released)?

and the "SubD" (from Pixar?) is just some subdivision curve based tessellation?
