This news came the same day as news of yet another study showing that filesharing has a positive effect on sales. Free streaming has a 7% positive effect and filesharing has a 2% positive effect. If you listen to a song for free you are more likely to buy that song. Every major study not sponsored by the industry has shown the same results. The industry is basically suing people for helping them spread the word about their songs. We should be charging them 5% to listen to music streams and it would still be worth it to them. Greed causes them to shoot themselves in the foot instead.

They really need to federally mandate removal of all personal copyright litigation from the system, until the copyright system catches up with the reality of the digital age. How much money is being wasted on this frivolous crap instead of reworking the system into a stable and functioning level of operation. They're actively fighting groups who're trying to setup proper systems like netflix, and crippling services like hulu. They aren't going to scare away the majority with these tactics, they're never going to get enough people under their filthy knives to accomplish that, and they're not going to see any real compensation for any perceived or actual losses. They're going to run public opinion for them strait into the ground for nothing. Basically they're just throwing shit on the walls instead of potty training themselves and learning to wipe properly in the new toilet age, sans diapers. Quit shitting yourselves copyright police, for the sake of society.
