Now when will we see a true sequel to CStrike? (CStrike2?)
I'm surprised they haven't tried to release a proper upgrade (I don't count CS:GO)

Maybe with HL Episode 3

Gooseman was surely the initial driving force behind CS. For the uninitiated: http://planetquake.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Quake.Detail&id=63

I'd argue it was best before Valve was at all involved.

In any case, yeah, it's his claim to fame. It's a huge claim. When you created at least 50% of one of the biggest games of all time, that's a big deal.

I think he worked on more for CStrike than Cliffe did... and Cliffe got to work at Valve instead of Gooseman! That's unfair... Regardless, those two who created CS are legends in their own right. Now when will we see a true sequel to CStrike? (CStrike2?)

They both went to Valve, Gooseman just left fairly quickly and Cliffe stuck around.

I know he likes to take credit for Counter-Strike, but I don't have much faith in lightning striking twice for this guy...

Who else would take credit?

Cliffe was involved, and he listened to those of us that haunted the forums in the first months, but it was very much Gooseman.

It's not that there's someone else that could/should/would take credit for the idea, it's that that is this guy's only claim to "fame" (about 98% of players don't have a clue who he is). And let's face it, CS only became better and more popular after he left Valve, so there's really not much reason to think he can create something of the same caliber on his own. Which is what he's claiming, the second-coming of the tactical FPS... And yeah, I use that term pretty loosely in this context.

Well....first impressions are that the game is ok. I really only played it for 3 or 4 rounds....I need to play it more to get a good feel for the game.

I'm used to playing APB so that makes the car chase map kinda clunky feeling for me. It would be infinitely better if you could lean out of the car and fire like you do in APB.

The graphics look...well...let's put it this way....not what I would expect for a game that's being released in 2013.

The gameplay will take some getting used to though. I'll try again tomorrow and give it a good hour to see what I like and what I dislike I guess.

Jesus! Lots of downloading just to play this thing....and I'm really not a fan of using the browser based game launcher...reminds me way too much of Origin....
