It's a roguelike they made. I picked it up from Gamersgate depite my not being a huge fan of roguelikes and it is pretty decent if you're into that sort of thing

Same. I grabbed it though, its at a good impulse price And I rather like those kinda roguelikes. Plus, its sci-fi. How can one go wrong?
I played the tutorial, and it definitely looks fun.

As for GMG: I can't buy anything from them because my bank and credit cards all register them as an online gambling site. Apparently those are illegal (wtf?), so they won't authorize a purchase under any circumstance.
Not sure what country you are from, but if its in the US, that kinda thing has been in the news a lot when it happened and occasionally since.

Basically a few years back, some random court decision decided it violated something. After that congress passed a law about it (more than likely because of casino's lobbying). Not really sure why it should be against the law for people to waste their money if they want to. Throw some taxes on it.

20% extra off discounted COD games on GameFly with code GFDMAR20. By the way, Black Ops, MW2, and MW3 all activate on Steam.

Picked up Tropico 4 and Modern Times. The other DLC just seems like a bunch of junk.

Now I am forced to finish my playthrough of Tropico 3 which I had not been getting around to. Just so I can start 4 with a feeling of completion...or something.

Should work fine using an encrypted tunnel or VPN in another county. Google it; I'm sure you can find such a service for free or very cheap.

GMG is doing their usual 20% off coupon, which works on Tomb Raider. Brought the cost down to $40. Although I'm a bit nervous these days using a third party to get Steam keys. I've started using them more though and haven't had a problem.

GMG rocks. been using them forever with no problems. They're in England, man, not some third world shithole.
I agree, and I've used them a fair amount myself, but some banks treat them like they are.

And the Doodie titles are OF COURSE not available for sale with a German IP address. I wish I'd currently live in Burundi, Benin, Burkina Faso, Bangladesh. The games are available there. GODDAMMIT!
Consoles? I owned two: a Pong clone and an Atari 2600. And that's it.

I picked it up during the last Christmas sale and had a decent amount of fun with it. It's not as granular as SimCity 4 when it comes to management and construction; you won't have to fiddle with taxes or adjust zones to maximize your police coverage, for instance. The only real fiddling comes with managing people's pay and providing them what they are demanding (ie. medical facilities, churches, police). Regarding construction, there's no water pipes, electrical lines, etc, just dirt roads/streets. Things seem to move a lot slower as well in the game; you'll be playing on the fastest speed most of the time. Watch a Let's Play to get more info that I could go into.

All in all, it's only $7.50. You can hardly eat at McDonald's for that amount anymore. And I guarantee you you'll get more satisfaction from Tropico.

Thanks man, I appreciate the mini-review.

Tropico is great, but it's got more in common with a [dictator] Tycoon game than Sim City.

Funny that Tropico goes on sale with all of these Sim City woes hitting. Not a coincidence, methinks.

How is Tropico? Is it any fun? Is it in any way comparable to (the old) Sim Cities?
