The 7th Guest 3 Announced

The 7th Guest 3 is in development for Windows, OS X, iOS, and Android, as a new installment in the old-school puzzle/adventure series, Trilobyte co-founder Charlie McHenry tells Polygon. The original Trilobyte went under before the turn of the millennium, but was revived a couple of years ago, and sure enough the Trilobyte Games Website now lists The 7th Guest: 3 as one of their projects. McHenry tells Polygon development will include "some of the original team members from the 90's." They have an image with a look at one of the puzzles in the sequel, and word that this project will be the subject of a Kickstarter campaign next month.

Haha came here to type that and as I clicked the comments link I even said it aloud to myself and there it was starting me in the face from your post

I don't think I ever found my way out of that maze. My first computer wasn't as ancient as you guys, came with Myst and 7th Guest, so it was literally one of my first computer games I ever played. But through chance and circumstance I ended up playing tons of classic and much older games.

Probably one of the few cases of effective live action spliced into games.

Disc 2 worked as an audio CD in any CD player so you could listen to the entire soundtrack, which was pretty good. Team Fat!

Does anyone remember that old adventure game Phantasmagoria? I kind of got the idea for my nickname from that. I miss those days... should really find those old games somewhere and install them again.
It's on GOG.

Oh Hell yes! I had a major crush on Victoria Morsell for a long time.

Geoff Keighley was covering the game industry already 14 years ago?

Indeed. Seems he's been selling doritos a lot longer than I realized.

I'm curious to see how this new 7th guest game will turn out. Played the first one so long ago I remember very little.

Doritos and Mountain Dew!

I'm...looking forward to this. I really liked both games when I was a kid younger, primarily because they were hard in an intelligent way.

Shy Gypsy Slyly Shyly Tryst By My Crypt.

I remember that solution to this day.

Covering publishers' nuts in drool? Yep, he's been at that for a long, long time.

Loved the shit out of both of the games.

I got sad when their next game ( i think so ) was Clandestiny...

Hope this new game is swell.

"After the profit loss of The 11th Hour, the second game created by Trilobyte, the producers went on to make a more kid-friendly version of The 7th Guest"

Figured. Like Under a Killing Moon / Tex Murphy games these titles had expensive budgets and required shooting live actors etc. ( which I believe at the time was really impressive )

Excellent news! I wonder if this will make everyone go out and buy a 2x Red-Ray drive Awesome, loved that game, but didn't care to play the 11th hour, as I heard it was a letdown. too bad.

I hope they bring back "The Fat Man"

What was the name of that old DOS game about Fat Man? Lair of the Fat Man? I can't find it on underddogs. I remember the cover was a picture of a chin, upside down, with marbles in the nose for eyes...

(google isn't helping, and I need to go scrub my eyes now. )

edit: Found it! And by activision.

The original 7th Guest had one of my favorite sound tracks. I hope they bring back "The Fat Man" for the music again.
