EA: Dead Space Rumor "Patently False"

GameSpot has a very brief response from EA to earlier reports that it was walking away from the Dead Space series based on disappointing sales of Dead Space 3. They initially declined to comment, but now say the report is "patently false," adding: "While we have not released sales data for Dead Space 3, we are proud of the game and it continues to be an important IP to EA."

Yeah that was ridiculously wasteful and wasn't worth the meager PR it garnered. Oh well, they can keep their homogenized game, I don't really care for the dudebro transition as the Dead Space "universe" isn't heavy enough to carry run of the mill gameplay I can get anywhere else.

Loved Dead Space 1 though, it had its warts but was overall pretty good. Dead Space 2 was still pretty neat too. Oh well, EA will probably kill it off.

I don't care about whether it lost its survival horror "roots" or not. Dead Space 3 was extremely immersive for me. Not many games can give me this nowadays.

Even if the series was cancelled they would probably still make comics or those cartoon movies to continue the story since there is a lot more to tell.
