Blizzard Planning PAX East Reveal

Blizzard seems to be planning an announcement for PAX East, according to Ars Technica, who share details of an invitation to see something "new" at the show, which kicks off in Boston, MA on March 22nd. "We've been working on a little something, different from our other games, and we're pleased to invite you to be the first to see it," reads the invite. "It's not a sequel, expansion or that rumored next-gen MMO, but it's something we're excited for you to get your hands on." They offer their speculation that this might be Blizzard All-Stars, their MOBA first announced as Blizzard Dota before a trademark scuffle with Valve.

Agreed, it is stupid and annoying. Unfortunately, hype has been the standard for a LONG time now.

Truth is brutal. Prepare for pain.

A new Auction House structure for Heart of the Swarm. Use it to buy units with real money to supplement units created through minerals/gas. Totally balanced.

Erm they want to reveal something we want to get our hands on????

Just cause I'm a gamer nerd don't mean I'm desperate. They need to at least buy me dinner and a bottle of lube first.

Blah blah blah. Carefactor minimal. Only thing I want to see from them is Titan and I'm sure that's going to suck too, I just want confirmation.

If you don't like where gaming is heading, stop giving your money to the people who are taking it in that direction.

Only a few years ago that would have been cause for some real excitement...not anymore though. I'll bet you dollars to donuts that whatever is it's online-DRM and they've monetized the hell out of it.

Judging by the kinds of iterative grind-a-thon games that are popular at Penny Arcade, I'll guess it's an iphone app that allows RMAH access.

Diabo 3 for Playstation has an offline mode, LAN play, and no RMAH.

Blizzard can DIAF.

You can't really make a MOBA more watered down and accessible than League of Legends, kind of pointless. Blizzard doesn't even have enough characters to fill out a roster without dipping into 2nd and 3rd tier stuff.

With HoN, DotA2 and LoL kicking around out there, another Arena-RTS game isn't something that is that groundbreaking. Even though the genre was born in War3, they haven't done anything to really grow it.

Oh yeah. There is SMITE too. Haha.
