Creston Same thing what I was thinking. My 570 GTX doesn't even work up a sweat with most games these days, at 1080p res. and max details. If I've had multiple displays I would look into a 6xx series card but this Titan is way overkill, especially for gaming these days. |

Not mentioned, the eight 6-pin power connectors it will need.
So which of these is actually 'better?'
Stream Processors 2688 2 x 1536 Texture Units 224 2 x 128 ROPs 48 2 x 32 Memory Bus Width 384-bit 2 x 256-bit
Because offhand you'd say that the 690's numbers are slightly higher? I have no idea if graphics cards work that way, though.

Games are being held back by consoles but this doesn't mean they don't use our extra power in some way, just not as effectively as they could. Speaking of UltraHD, I would love to see how this thing would perform on a 4K television's native resolution. |

If you just look at specs, TITAN is 2-3x stronger than GTX680. Twice the transistors, about 2.5x CUDA cores, 3x memory, 1.5x memory bandwidth, almost 200MHz lower base clock, twice the texture units, 384bit vs 256bit memory... and the thing is still 28nm old architecture, while requiring ~50W more juice.
Benchmarks should be interesting. |

What are they hiding? It can't be the 10 times more powerful claim because I don't imagine anyone believes that any way (it's probably technically true in some obscure way, but it's not going to mean 10x the frame rate).
$1000 is way, way out of my league but this should push the 6X0 cards' prices down a bit.

I'm pretty sure they mean compute power, and not game average framerate power, though. The 6XX series was skimpy on compute... which most gamers don't care about anyway.
So yeah... I don't see this card being worth $1000 for gaming. |

So, I guess we'll see a new car soon called, the Titan. And perhaps a shaving razor called Titan, too. Right?
Is "titan" the new buzzword now a days? ... |

Bloody previews. No benchmarks. I hate that crap. Looks like we won't see benchmarks until later this week, because the nVidia PR machine won't allow them. |

Despite being ten times more powerful than its predecessor I'd lovveeee to see some benchmarks...thing'll probably cost more than my car.
Now we just need to fast forward four years for a game designed to use such a gpu. |
