GRiD 2 Gameplay Trailer

A new trailer shows off gameplay from GRiD 2, the racing sequel in development at Codemasters. The accompanying description offers pedigrees of all the cars it depicts: "GRID 2’s Road Racing locations are represented as cars including the BMW E30 M3 Sport Evolution, Ford Mustang Mach 1 and Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RS SS 1970 race head-to-head on the California Coast. Track Racing is shown at Austria’s Red Bull Ring, where the Ariel Atom 3, BAC Mono and KTM X-Bow R go flat out around this historic circuit. Street Racing, meanwhile, is shown in Paris, as marques including the McLaren MP4-12C, Mercedes Benz SL 65 AMG and Corvette Z06 Centennial Edition tear around the Arc de Triumph. Hot hatches including the Alfa Romeo Giuletta and Ford Focus ST race into the night in Barcelona and stunning cars including the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 Nismo Z Tune, Pagani Huayra, Koenigsegg Agera R and more charge through Chicago."

I think when GRID popped on the scene it looked extremely impressive in comparison to racers of the day.

Now, the sequel, which doesn't immediately look to offer much innovation (and no cockpit view) isn't impressing.

I am so not excited about this one. Not sure why, I generally like Codemasters racing games, but this one looks so meh.
Hopefully there will be a demo at least to see how the cars handle but I most likely won't get this game.

Meh, assetto corsa is what I'm waiting for... Grid was fun but in a gt-forza kinda way. Same people who made NetKar Pro are doing Assetto Corsa and NetKar Pro is about the best feeling car game/sim I've played.

I actually seen this yesterday...looks really good, I have to say. But if we're spoutn' off the racing sims we'd like to see make a come back, I'd have to go with Nascar Racing 2003 (or 2013 now) and Indycar Racing (I know, what a shock, eh?). We haven't had an 'official' NASCAR game on the PC in quite a long time. That drivel on the consoles is pathetic. Since 2003, I've had to run NR2003 until I was sick of seeing it. When the official servers were killed off, I left the scene. Now I sustain my habit with NASCAR mods on other racing games, such as the (very imminent) VHR Racing mod for rFactor (a sim almost as old as NR2003 iteself) and 'online-only' iRacing (which is made with NR2003 as it's foundation, though you can barely tell nowadays, most of the code has been re-written several times over)... Sigh

Just have to do with the Grid's and the SHIFT's and the Dirt's and the GTR's until that day comes...

(PS: Loved Grid, really looking forward to this one. But PC version, please. I'm not buying anything for those prehistoric shitboxes that we used to call "consoles" anymore.) Creston

The footage looks pretty good. That must be from the PC. It might be in-game footage, but it's not gameplay.
