Don't download unless you want to be restricted to one dictatorship-style private server full of lobby potatoes, and/or play only singleplayer.
The BZ2 patch, however, works beautifully and you should download it now. |

This patch not only replaces Gamespy matchmaking with RakNet matchmaking, but many improvements and additions from previous patches as well, like DX9 graphics, 3D sound, bug and crash fixes, IRC Chat, lag and resync fixes, and tons of modding options.

| I really thought Battlezone and Battlezone II were great titles. Multiplayer was sort of meh, but they were in the late 90's when almost everything had sort of meh multi-player. Gameplay was wicked cool though. |
