And for the record? Golfing is fun. It's basically the only activity my father and I can agree to do together. No, I just hate dumb shit. The only thing more boring than golfing is watching golfing. |

It stopped snowing sometime in the morning here in CT.
We got between 2 and 3 feet at my house (just south of Hartford). I'm still not dug out after shoveling for over 4 hours. |

Could I please ask for your help. Vote for Brian Gay to take out the pga tour golfer of the month over tiger Woods. Brian had a great win this month after struggling for the last few years, he is one of the good guys on tour. Please go to http://www.pgatour.com/pom.html & vote for Brian, donations of $25.000 each will then go to his two deserving charities Wounded Warriors Project & St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Thank you. |

Oh man, I cleared snow for a freakin' hour before I was about ready to fall down. Haven't had to do one of those for a few years now. Forgot how much work that is. |

Oh come on. I'm an old man and on legs day I lift 10x150 lb squats and the same for deadlifts. A total of 3000 lbs in under 10 minutes.
I used to throw freight at one time. We'd do about 22,000 lbs each in 45 minutes. |

Not knowing exactly where you live, but using the value of 1.5 inches equivalent of water from NOAA for the average of your general area.
The math works out that you would have to shovel ~64.7 square foot of snow to shovel a ton of snow.
Zomebiefans estimates were on the high side, as the snow in your area right now is not very dense right now. |

Blue, I was intrigued by your post and did some research. Snow can weigh anywhere between 5 to 15 lbs or more per cubic foot, depending on the type (dry, wet, compacted, etc.). But let's just average it to 10 lbs. 2000 lbs. in a ton, so you're looking at 200 cubic feet. Say you could get about .5-1 cubic foot on your shovel, about 200-400 shovel scoops...we'll go on the high side and say 400 shovels full. Let's even add another 100 for kicks. I'm sure you did at least 500. I know I did.
So yeah, you moved a ton. |
