I bought a 570 for like 400 Am considering this because I game on a 27" 2560x1400 monitor and to be honest I don't think the 570 will be able to handle much longer considering it only has 1.2gb memory and high resolutions need lots of memory right?

You really don't need to spend more than $200 ; a $200 card give 80% the perf of a $400 card, and given that most games are console ports anyway, that's more than enough. Exactly.

We're kind of in a sweet spot right now where you can get a decent proc and video card for pretty cheap and run just about anything.
Yeah, that is about my limit. I bought an 8800 Ultra for $400, which died after 3 yrs. Then I got a GTX 460 for $180, which showed a big improvement. I bought a GTX 670 over the summer for $390, and haven't seen much improvement, although the plan was to run games multimon, which I have yet to do. | Given how consoles keep hamstringing the PC, it doesn't seem like there's a point to spending more than $200-300 unless you're trying to pull off some crazy multimon setup. Most of the $300 cards I'm looking at online right now are monstrous overkill for 1920x1200. |

Would be pretty bad if a card that doubles performance (supposedly) only gets 15% more performance in a benchmark too. That score is not nearly as impressive as it should be. That alone is a big hint it's fake...

Blue, that link posts a picture that has been confirmed came from a GTX690.
There are no real benchmarks out, there's just a lot of speculation. |
