Just need to roll some d20's. Or maybe spin them like those dice rings in that completed KS: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/critsuccess/dice-rings |

I wish someone would make a mod that would cause a black, unmarked SUV to follow me around all the time. I could go nuts with conspiracy theories.

Is Euro Truck Simulator 2 good? I only played the demo enough to see that my PC, which can play Crysis on the highest settings, if this is even any benchmark to go by anymore, but ETS2 is apparently too hardcore. The driving also doesn't work that well with the keyboard, unlike the aforementioned games, so I am not whether I will buy it in the near future, but I'm stil interested to know in how it compares to the older truck simulation games. I never played any of the old ones, so I can't really compare. The game itself is excellent, however. It's probably not even really right to call it a game, as it's a fairly hardcore sim. You can make it more gamey with some mods, but in the end the large majority of your time will be spent hauling big loads at slow speeds across long stretches of German Auto-bahn. It's quite a challenge to even keep the thing level, though, so it never gets boring, but you do have to enjoy that particular activity in order to get enjoyment out of it.
I find it very relaxing, to be honest. It's fun to just chill for an hour and casually drive from Poland to France hauling some human-devouring acid for whatever evil plot the French Socialist government has come up with that time. (I find it helps to come up with background stories for the cargo. )
There are some annoyances in the game, and to be honest, once you've maxed out your truck I don't really see the point of making more money (all it allows you to do is buy garages and hire more drivers, which in turn just make more money, so eh...) but since you need to get to level 25 in order to get everything, it's a fairly slow but steady journey to get there.
ETS2 is pretty crazy graphically intensive. I'm not sure what about it makes it so power hungry. My GTX660ti is constantly running at 100% fan speed when I'm driving, and ETS2 is the only game that makes it go that fast. I think there's maybe no frame limiter, and so it's going at 500fps or something? It's smooth as silk on my system, it literally never hickups. But those fans are fucking blowing like an F18 on takeoff.
I'd definitely recommend it to fans of trucks(semis) or fans of sims in general. If you're more of a action-type gamer, this will probably bore you quite a bit. (though I go free-roaming a lot, at which point I ignore any and all traffic laws. Red lights? Speed limits? Whatever. The fines I get are paid for by my company's minions. And it's hella fun to go 150+kph on a little country road while trying to swerve around 2 lanes worth of bi-directional traffic.)
And yeah, kb/m doesn't work very well, but driving with a 360 controller is very simple and works reasonably well. It's no replacement for a good wheel, but I've driven 40K km with it, so it works fine.
