Nah, it doesn't imply that. I just meant that after owning every iPhone (except the first) and knowing 20+ relatives and close friends that own one, I have never had that happen or heard any of them mention it. And usually when they have a question or issue they'll ask me because I have used them for so long.

I know people have different kinds of issues but that's just one I didn't know of. Typically if the phone locks up, all it takes is a restore to fix it.

What you said was you "never heard of that" basically implying it never happens. There's a difference between that and "always someone who will have issues"

I didn't say it does mean that either. How many people have problems with every other software update for any other phone? There is always someone that will have issues.

If every Android phone could get every Android update I'm sure more of them would have problems too. I wouldn't like to be blocked from getting an update because it wasn't available for my phone or because my carrier hasn't released it yet.

I dunno, I would have expected it to lengthen battery life, considering that it seems like every few weeks I read about some random official apple ios update that bricks phones or makes battery life tank.
iOS updates that bricks phones? I have never heard of that one and never had an update 'brick' any iPhone I've owned.
For example:
article link

From what I can tell, that particular problem was because their update servers got slammed and apple hadn't bothered putting a failsafe into the process if it couldn't contact the update server.

Just because YOU haven't had it happen personally to YOU doesn't mean it never happened for anyone.

I am still on iOS6.0.2 so I can't comment on the battery drain issue but I should update by this weekend and try it out. I normally have 70%+ battery left when I go home from work so I will see how much it varies from there afterwards.

I give Apple the much coveted FIVE dismissive wanks.

Shortened battery life, Apple? Like what happens with your iOs 6.1 update? and which Apple support just tells people they're imagining it?

With Apple releasing a new phone every six months who gives a shit right? The Apple fanboys sure as hell dont....
I don't know what Apple company you're talking about, but they release a new phone once a year typically. I believe you're thinking of Samsung. Plus I don't see how that has anything to do with jailbreaking.

Love my Nexus but I also love my iPhone 5, and to get my jailbreak tweaks back is a breath of fresh air.

Android has completely caught up with iOS and it's about time for Apple to make jailbreaking legit but only for developer accounts or something ( to keep the casual user in Apple's locked land safe and free from having to worry about dumb customers fucking their shit up with a bad jailbroken app )

It drives me nuts how Apple sits on a unix base but covers all of it up with fancy shit and loses the hardcore user base.

It's like how they drove off a ton of Final Cut editors with FCX. Prosumer = more sales.

Why sell Pro level equipment when you can make more selling oversized ipod touches..

If they had the equivalent of Firewall IP and iBlacklist in the app store, I wouldn't have to "hack my IOS" device...

But those apps are exactly the types that Apple (and the telecom carriers) will never allow, because they give you FULL CONTROL of your own device, regarding what YOU ALLOW it to do, or not do.

Technically, they're right, but nobody pays any attention to "removing this will void your warranty" stickers, either. The JB doesn't cause any of this, it depends on the apps you install. I'm sure Apple had to put something like this out after @saurik posted that over 4 million iPhones had accessed Cydia's servers since evasi0n was released on the 4th

My list of favorite unauthorized modifications:

Activator (custom gesture/button actions)
Cyntact (profile pictures in contact lists)
DietBar (shrinks the top navigation bar, good for iphone 3 and 4)
Five Icon Dock (what it says)
FolderEnhancer (nested folders!)
iKeyWi (5-row keyboard)
LiveClock (springboard Clock.app icon shows correct time)
Mail Enhancer Pro (message list coloring, custom sounds, rules)
NoAccSplash (lets you use the Music app even if you're docked in a player)
SpringFlash (Activator action that turns the LED on)
Tab+ (infinite tabs in safari)
WeatherIcon (Weather.app icon shows weather, plus current temp in statusbar)
