Hotline Miami Sale; Soundtrack Released

Steam now offers sales of the soundtrack for Hotline Miami, presented in MP3 format, in spite of an erroneous boilerplate note saying this is DLC that requires ownership of the throwback action game to play. Speaking of owning the game, it is currently on sale for 50% off, which makes it half the price of the soundtrack. It's like ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife, right Alanis?

There was that one high pitched song that played during a couple levels and my roommate wanted to smash my PC, but other than that, I loved the soundtrack.

Maybe not a game to be played with headphones

I had a blast with the gameplay, for a short period of time. 4-6 hours, then I'd done enough.

But those hours were definitely a blast.

And, by the end of those hours, I hated the soundtrack. Hated with every fiber of my being. I'm a guy that often listens to similar music (see: Zombi), but man, did this music get grating after a few hours of headphones.

I enjoyed the soundtrack a lot more than I did the actual gameplay. Also, the flac files for most/all of the tracks are in the game install, so you only need this if you want mp3s...

Or do what I'm going to do and go buy them all on bandcamp in the format of your choice.

Eh, it was okay. It's the top-down action version of Super Meat Boy, so beyond a certain point you need to be a glutton for punishment if you're going to enjoy repeating the same actions over and over and over and over again until timing, execution and/or luck all click and you finally succeed. Personally, the presentation of the blown-up pixel graphics and bizarre fucking music made my head bleed from various orifices after an hour or so... Quite glad I only spent a few bucks on it during the holiday sale.

Great Soundtrack for the game of the year 2012. Great atmosphere, sharp gameplay and a surprisingly deep plot if you pay attention.
Please port it to every device on the planet.
