I'm looking forward to this. Unfounded? Really? It's a Skyrim skin for WoW. I found quite a few intriguing features in ESO vs Wow. Such as? Go watch some dev movies, there are several unique features. The most unique is simply playing like TES but with others. TES doesn't play like wow. |

I thought Daggerfall was crap. 15000 cities... yay? And every quest was a generic "go to point X on the map, and then come back."
At least, in what little I saw of it, and what little I remember of it. It was also buggy as fuck.
I never played that next one, the pirate one? But God, have I put in hours into Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. It's an easy 1000+.
Sadly, even that love for Tamriel won't really make me cough up 15 bucks a month for this.

Watching a trailer like that... Just makes me think... 'Finish the movie, and screw the game...' : )
I am currently MMO'd out... I love the genre, but I just don't feel like playing any of them atm... I should try out a few of the newly-free ones, but meh...

Not suicidal but I've often thought what a bummer it would be to up and die just before a new ES game came out. If I'm going to be hit by a bus or something, let it be when there aren't any good games coming out. This game could be good, and it could be successful. However, it's a strange, unnecessary diversion from the series. I seriously hope Zenimax's foray into an Elder Scrolls disguised Dark of Camelot 2 doesn't affect the release cycle of Bethesda's singleplayer games.
I see Elder Scrolls as massively singleplayer; NOT massively multiplayer! |

Not sure I could do that, for any MMO. Rabid fanbases for those games - people spend years (sometimes decades!) playing them. Yeah, I think their success speaks for itself and the PvP community will keep those games going long after the PVE people burn through content patches.
Looking forward to the next expansion.
Not sure what to expect from this game, the trailers don't give you much to go on. I don't like auto atk WOW style shit so I hope that's not their approach here.

1. Long beta (a year or so) with sustained player-base. 2. competent developers who listen to said playerbase.
If these two happen, the game will succeed. If not, it's bound to fail.
Last MMO with that formula was, love it or hate it, WoW. GW2 did it as well and are still doing so after release. Their devs post on the official forums frequently, answering questions and taking suggestions.
Not sure I could do that, for any MMO. Rabid fanbases for those games - people spend years (sometimes decades!) playing them. Guild Wars 2 was one of the worst actually imo, if only because they kept forums down virtually all the time - their devs were very stand-offish when I saw their posts. Admittedly I wasn't in any proper 'closed' beta, but I also didn't know ANYONE who was in their 'closed' beta, and I know a bunch of dudes in the industry -- another red flag.
I don't see GW2 going anywhere but down. I know people want to stay optimistic about them and that's fine I hope them the best. |

but think of it this way, if the haters don't play the game, then that means it'll be a more hater-free experience for the rest of us
this looks great, loved morrowind, oblivion, and skyrim, but i always wanted to play with my friends, and now i can! thanks TES for giving me exactly what i want.

Never played it until they released it for free a couple years back. 15,000! CITIES BIG! Too much of a good thing. Daggerfall is my favorite RPG ever. I want more randomization in recent games. GOOD randomization. |
