In short I felt NO reason to stealth through this game, thus it became another shooter with really bad weapons. Thats what let me down. In Deus Ex I could see a reason to stealth. But in this game...why bother? People usually play how they want to play. If you enjoy playing stealthy, why not play stealthy? If you don't enjoy playing stealthy, don't play stealthy. I ghosted my way through Dishonored and enjoyed it immensely. |

Typical Gamestop cluelessness. If there's a bad decision to make, they go ahead and make it. I don't shop there anymore. I think they did the same thing with The Last Story or one of the other JRPGs that barely got localized, I can't remember which one. I was actually able to buy Xenoblade off a guy who got it as a gift but didn't want it, sealed copy. Shit is like $100+ now around here, it's nuts. It's a collectors thing for me though, love that fuckin game. |

Shitty move.
I think this is how Gamestop punishes you, instead of getting it from steam for like $30...
I had gift cards, so I got it for $30 out of pocket anyway. And it allowed me to not need to download the game when installing into Steam, which is a plus. |

It just so happened that if they built it, they expected that you'd try to use it and gave you a little script to go with it. Just cause the developers covered all the bases, doesn't necessarily mean there's less freedom to the game. People often make the comparison to Thief, but I mean jesus, that game wasn't an open field either. You still had to take specific routes to get where you had to be. In some places, but overall the idea was to be stealthy in Thief, and not just for "achievements". Look, we said it's a good game, just not Thief/Deus Ex good and that, as they say, is that. |

I liked it dont get me wrong, but its not a great stealther.
XBOX 360 version is 60 dollars at Gamestop. Does the Guide and the DLC make up for that price? |

Yes, there were many ways to "get to" the objective... but somehow I felt the level design was "on-rails" or claustrophobic , most of the time... and I'm not sure why. The rest of the game was pretty good, IMO... but the map / level layouts just weren't as outstanding as they could have been. My sentiments too. It was a little too on rails for my taste. It lacked that freedom you'd find in Thief that I loved. It was good game to be sure, but it could have been better. |
