Splinter Cell: Blacklist in August

A new trailer on IGN offers live action footage (of U.S. presidents, no less), gameplay, and cinematics from Splinter Cell: Blacklist. This concludes with an official release date for the next installment in the stealth/action series, saying it is due for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on August 20, 2013, and touting bonuses for preordering. They also have some updated box art for the game.

Conviction was awesome. Will check up on this one when released.

Yeah, I'm trying to get through Chaos Theory over the last few weeks and it doesn't really grab my attention after playing Dishonored and Hitman:A. The game looks pretty though.

Why isn't there a remake of Westworld?

Console graphics just look so dated to me now... they should just delay the game and remake it for next-gen. Bring on PS4/720!

Agreed. After the third one it all went down hill very quickly.

On the bright side, it looks like they're bringing back some of the stealth elements that the series was once known for. You can now distract enemies, hide bodies and avoid confrontation, which already makes it better than Conviction. I'm hoping they bring back the throwable objects but that's probably not going to happen.

I just don't see how they can have Sam Fisher without Michael Ironside. To me one of the big draw's of Splinter Cell was Sam's charisma.

The last one was a decent game, just not a Splinter Cell game. I liked the predator hunt style of it.
