Well you are hardened then. I can't stand more than 35°C .. I admit, I am a weak continental European But on the other hand, I have no problem with humid summers as long as it's below 40°C .. but Australia is too dry for my taste. I live in a region with lots of lakes and forests. Wouldn't ever want to trade that for hot dry lands ;p |

When I went to Egypt it was over 45C in the shade, yet the very low humidity meant it wasn't a problem; in fact I've been more uncomfortable on a humid 30C day in the UK.
That said, I wouldn't be interested in a holiday to Australia either. It's hot, it's mostly desert, the culture is very similar to the UK, it's expensive to get there, it takes a very long time to fly there and it doesn't have much in the way of history. I tend to stick to Europe and have enjoyed all the countries I've visited - I've been to Italy, San Marino, France and Belgium. In terms of hot countries, I'd like to visit Dubai, Brazil and Turkey but I'm not in any hurry. Save your money over visiting Dubai. |

Hey I just realized something while going over the "Features" of this game. It says that there is 4-player co-op, but there is no mention of regular TvT or FFA or any other kind of multiplayer...
Im wondering, maybe this game wont feature any other kind of multiplayer? If so I expect a brilliant SP or CO-OP game, anything less and they wont be getting my money.... |

I can't really say. I just know they have to match local prices.
Most of my Australian friends tell me Steam matches local prices but they can import for less, which is why they complain. In Australia, people pay equal to 8 -- EIGHT!! -- euros for a cappuccino. In the Netherlands, when you order one you pay between 2 to 3 euros.
I don't hear the Australians complain about that.
It is, indeed, because of the wellbeing of that country. People generally get paid around 3 times more than the same job would in The Netherlands and USA. |

Alien zergfest = fail.
They never freaking learn, do they? It's like all the decisions are made by arrogant fools with their head up their ass, with no intention to listen to the nerds in the background who know exactly what it is a good game needs. It's probably those morons you first met at school.. the ones with the annoying smirk and an act as if they know everything, unable to say "I don't know" even if they don't. Bah.
I digress a lot.
Anyway, I knew this game was gonna fail when I saw the alpha preview footage some years ago.. and this giant Alien came bashing through what I can only remember as a junkyard.. and the player was supposed to be scared. I threw my arms up in the air right there and then, and with it my last shreds of hope that mayyybe this Alien game was gonna be alright... |

| What they need to do is take Red Faction 1 engine and put it in an Aliens game. I mean come on now, that place would be a freaking metal crater in space with that many aliens being shot. |

theyarecomingforyou wrote on Jan 14, 2013, 14:53: ACM supports DX11 but won't use any DX11 features, like tessellation. For all intents and purposes it's not a DX11 game. From a technical perspective it's a backwards step from the recent AVP game, especially as all the media features low polygon models and environments as well as low resolution textures. I'm hopeful that the gameplay will make up for it but at the moment it looks like I'll wait to pick this up on sale.
I haven't seen anything to suggest that ACM will be a decent PC port. That's in stark contrast to other non-DX11 games like Dishonored and Borderlands 2, which both had media and interviews talking about how the PC version was receiving special treatment. That makes me very sceptical, especially with the development history.
DX11 isn't essential but it is a warning sign and there have been many other warning signs. If it's a warning sign that my 480 can run it on max at 60fps then great! Graphics have reached a point of diminishing returns for me, I don't care if they get any better. |

| It's gonna be another Duke Nukem Forever no doubt. If anything I would be surprised if it didn't suck, given the development hell RollinThundr mentioned.... also that video someone else there linked had the worst voiceovers I heard in recent times.. I thought we were over the "phone in the voice overs from a plane with absolutely no emotion" part of gaming voices.... |
