The War Z at War

The War Z Forums reveal that the embattled survival/horror shooter has been the subject of a denial of service attacks, though there's no word if these are being ironically facilitated through zombie computers. There are several updates showing the measures taken to address this, but the ultimate conclusion is that none of these worked, and they are now seeking help from Valve with this. Thanks MCV.

I guess they wish they never made the game by now but maybe its a good learning experience for them.
I really don't give a flying fuck about them and there greed and I think they got what they deserve after read all there statements and what not.

It's a pay game... with additional monetization, right?

Isn't it where you can buy a gun, then be spawn-killed and never have a chance to even fire that gun?

More like buy said gun, spawn, kicked from server for complaining in the forums about a bug or missing feature that was a selling point, then subsequently banned.

I would love to hear the off-the-record office chatter over at Valve when they were asked to help.

Pretty much. I can't say I feel pity for them, after everything that happened.

Just because Sergey is a dick, doesn't mean that players who paid for software and have a right to play it should be prevented from doing so. This attack is just wrong on so many levels. If a man wrongs you, you don't kick his children.

You're confusing Day Z with War Z. Day Z is the Free to Play mod of Arma 2. War Z is a paid-for stand-alone game.

Nah that's space captain, he was already banned once. I don't think Blue can ban by IP or at least chooses not to since most of the banned users just make a new account.

But anyways dude you're confusing The War Z with the Arma 2 Day Z mod. The former is pretty much a huge scam from start to finish.

This whole situation seems to have gone farther than it needs to go. Isn't this a $40 game in the end? I thought I saw on the website that it's $40 to get into the beta or alpha or whatever. It seems like getting ripped off is just part of the industry. I know I've felt cheated buying games in the past. Seems like the point has been made. This game is a ripoff. Got it. Be nice to move on.

I don't have any pity for the assholes who made the game and tried to cheat everyone, but the players are the ones who are suffering, since they now can't play the game they paid for.

Up next... Sim City?

You should. As crappy as the situation is, a DoS attack is never the answer. Especially since DoS attacks have high amounts of collateral damage.
