The critic ratings have to be taken with a grain of salt because many times someone that does not "get" or enjoy a genre is tasked with reviewing a game in that genre. So the game ends up with a 60 or 70 just because it's not that person's thing. The user reviews....oh boy what a load. The scores can rank from 10 to 0 on any given game. People give a great game a zero because their gamepad didn't work with it, or it had day one DLC. Unless a game was releasted in alpha stage and will not run on a single computer, a game does not deserve a zero, ever. A bad game - maybe a 2 or 3. A good game with a few flaws...6 or 7.

Metacritic bemoaning a lack of quality is like an american walmart customer bemoaning the lack of american manufacturing jobs. They're both one of the main driving forces that create the situation they bemoan.

I always ignore the company reviews and just look at the user reviews, i know if a bunch of cats can be herded into agreeing on a game scoring in the 80's that its gonna be pretty great.

Game ratings that might make sense? Surely a lack of quality! Every great game needs a 95 obviously.
