You didn't like it. We know. Get over it. So Diablo 3 was not a great game, and not one that will be played for years like Diablo 2 was... Oh well... better luck next time. Is that the end of the world to you? Get a grip. It's a game, not a woman, I don't need to get over anything. I can see it come up in the news and take 30 seconds to post a comment about it, I have the power to do that and keep doing other stuff with my life, amazing I know. Glad you're such a fan of my posts, many more to come.

Anyone who hasn't gotten their $60 worth of entertainment out of this title by now has done so by choice. They have probably also moved on to other games, which is the natural progression of things.
So Diablo 3 was not a great game, and not one that will be played for years like Diablo 2 was... Oh well... better luck next time. Is that the end of the world to you? Get a grip.
I've got news for ya... 2 wasn't this epicly amazing game everyone seems to think it was... and it took years of patching and a full expansion to "get it right". Expecting that insanely refined experience out of the box from D3 was pretty damn childish of you. D3 plays way better now than it did at launch, and continues to do so with every patch.
I can guarantee one thing, no matter how many times you post that you hated the game on this message board... you won't stop a single person from playing it at this point.

I didn't care for SH5 actually. Too arcade-like.
SH4 though... pick up Trigger Maru Overhaul (I didn't like the run silent run deep campaign which essentially emptied the ocean of enemy shipping and set it to something historical) and prepare to have your nuts rocked.
One of the most intense sessions I've ever played in a video game was running a 12 hour chase through black squalls and near hurricane force winds to get a firing solution on a massive Japanese convoy that contained "top military officials- A once in a lifetime chance- good luck!".
I couldn't quite get ahead of them, even running all ahead flank, so eventually, under the cover of darkness I slanted in and conducted a running surface battle with the convoy, and then spent the next three hours slinking away underwater trying to avoid depth charges.
Epic. Utterly epic. |

Well I defended D3 and i'm still around. I'm certainly not a moron either. I have always said D3 was fun for me and well worth the money I paid. Ive been playing natural selection 2 for the previous month and a bit though so have rarely picked up D3.
I do look into the AH occasionally to look for bargains but only play maybe 20-30 mins per session as most of my friends have moved on to other things (or back to TF2). Steam sale has stocked me up for a few more months and I was gifted SH4 + uboat and SH5 (which I avoided being a UBI game with silly DRM). SH effectively wipes out months of my free time so I don't see D3 getting a look in anymore.
PvP interests me not one iota. It will be who pays most wins. I see no tactical play at all. whoever lands the first crit will probably win. I suspect WD will rule them all as they can get STUPID SILLY spot damages with certain builds. Coupled with guaranteed "second life" passives they shouldn't lose. |

In other news, I patched my Dungeons and Dragons game so critical fails and critical successes are now simply miss and max damage.

PoE is only arpg that will have longevity compared to any arpg since d2. Tag it, copy paste it, live it... |

PvP won't work well in D3 either.
The reason why this is is because they're trying to balance each class like they would in an MMO rather than take heat for having each class have a distinct skill advantage over the others like in D2.
Now it'll likely boil down to who can stack the most +crit damage +crit % and see who can crit first.
I guess we'll be seeing D3 balance patch notes on her as frequent as those from WoW. |

It's a really good game and you would never guess it's only $15. The problem is that Diablo 3 has left me with such a sour taste in my mouth towards this particular genre and I don't feel as though I can get the most out of it for the time being. This is one reason I've not bought TL2 yet. I liked the first one enough but after foolishly buying D3 (after I said I wouldn't but peer pressure and the "demo" got me) I'm just not into action rpgs right now. |

Blue hit it exactly in the lead-in up top. They can't manage the class balance enough to make it work. Since they still prioritize the RMAH, they have to keep the grind, which means overpowered effects (otherwise everyone would get slaughtered). Overpowered effects means little class balance. So when they had to choose between the RMAH and class balance... they shelved PvP in favor of the RMAH.

Then I made World of Warcraft, it was awesome too at first. After launch, everyone left to make new companies. That left me with no one that knew how to keep making games or expansions that were fun. But it's names like Blizzard that make fun games, not people. I'll show you all when I release Diablo III PvP that Blizzard still kicks ass! Well when it's ready. Meh... 6/10. You bashed too hard on WoW. It still rakes in more cash in 10 minutes than you will make in your entire life.
WoW did not start sucking after 2003 - it started sucking around the time of the merger w/ Activision. |
