Its basically a remake of Dune2 without the clunkiness....Even the missions are analogous to the first game. Dune 2K was OK. |

Not everything will be on sale for the entire period.
Square Enix games will only be on sale for one week. Bohemia Interactive games and Retro City Rampage only for 2 weeks.
We will have announcements 48 hours before the discounts on these titles stop to make sure everyone knows. |

I started to gripe about GOG using DOSBox and that I could do the same thing myself for free. Then I realized that I'm far to lazy for that, I don't want to have to buy a USB floppy drive, set anything up, remember how to drivers high, or find the stupid code wheel for Star Control.
Good game, GOG. Good game. |

I can't recommend GOG highly enough. They do excellent work in making titles lost to antiquity available again at a reasonable price and quite often sweeten the pot with freebies or upgrades for their products.
Sure, they aren't actually making the games, but the richly deserve success for resurrecting some of the titles that just won't play on newer systems and putting them up DRM free for those who wish to take a nostalgic (albeit sometimes shocking) trip down memory lane. ; ) |

Man I miss Kali.... http://kali.net/ still works. :p Whoa, and I still have my legit purchased serial number to 2.4 Good thing kali is a lifetime purchase!
Edit: Interesting. Sounds like Kali was sold, and then came back in the hands of the original developer. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali_(software) Interesting, sounds like anything after XP removed IPX protocol, so there's still a need for kali. Yeah, but no one uses it. |

Speaking of GoG, I have a gift code that includes Blackwell Bundle and Resonance if anyone wants to trade. |

I got spoiled by the newer RTS games! It's funny how that works! People will often lament how little progress has been made in games (particularly RTS's) not realizing that there has been quite a bit, but it has been gradual. Then you play a classic and the stark reality hits home. Sometimes nostalgia can really play tricks on the memory.
Duke Nukem was such an important landmark in gaming that everyone should play it, if only to learn some history about our pasttime, but it hasn't aged all that gracefully. |

Glad this popped up, I've been pulling out the classics lately, especially the older FPS games. Amazing what people have taken the time to update to run on new harder with minor tweaks for controls or games that still work as they are.
Playing Warcraft Orcs and Humans in dos box at the moment... it's so much harder than the later ones. Only 4 unit selection, no selection box and no hot keys! Madness! |
