It's been in development a long time. I remember trying out the demo a year or two ago.
And yeah, the games seem to be all over the place. How do you vote on old games or unreleased ones? That's stupid.

The first sentence on the site says, "Welcome to the 3rd annual Indie of the Year awards, a celebration of the best independent games released in 2012". But then the voting includes games like Amnesia (2010) and Minecraft (2011). Why are games from previous years being counted?
EDIT: And it lets you vote for games that have yet to be released and probably won't this year. Weird.
