Might & Magic Heroes VI Shades of Darkness in February

Ubisoft announces that February 28, 2013 will be the worldwide release date for Might & Magic Heroes VI Shades of Darkness, the upcoming standalone expansion for Might & Magic Heroes VI, their fantasy strategy sequel. Here's word:

Starring the cult hero Raelag, first introduced in Heroes V, this fully-fledged standalone game will feature a return of the fan-favorite faction, Dungeon. Shades of Darkness recounts, in two original campaigns, epic and world shaping Dark Events in Ashan's history where two factions, The Dark Elves and the Necromancers, define their nefarious and gruesome destinies. The campaign occurs one century after the events in Heroes VI.

The Shadow-tainted Dark Elves, a persecuted people, exiled from their homeland, torn apart by internal strife. As heir to the throne of Queen Tuihdana, the hero Raelag can unite them and make them rise again as a proud and strong nation. Forging an alliance with the powers of Darkness, he will get the support of the almighty Black Dragons and elevate the Dark Elves as masters of deception, stealth and assassination!

The Necromancers of Heresh face a crisis that threatens their very existence as a magical disease is slowly destroying their Spider Goddess, the Mother Namtaru. The player will incarnate the vampire hero, Vein, a rogue Death Knight with a troubled past. After allying with a former mentor, Vein will discover the source of the disease is connected to the Dark Elves and the infamous Netherlord, Sandro. To thwart Sandro's plans, Vein will have to repair the corrupted memories of the Mother Namtaru and restore her godlike powers.

Players can also enjoy the full experience with Might & Magic Heroes VI Complete Edition, containing a fully-enhanced version of the game, all bonus maps & items, two adventure DLC packs, the original soundtrack of the game and the Shades of Darkness expansion, set for release on PC on the same day, February 28th.

Some problems were fixed (the game initially didn't work at all for me, though the demo was fine), then the rookit issue hit and I decided to keep anything with the uplay rootkit off my PC.

I tried some of the HOMM stuff after like 3 and wasn't impressed. Also, the always on DRM means if I ever do get any of the other HOMM stuff its going to be like a $5 sale. I did that with the latest settlers game and that always on DRM still prevented me from playing the game I purchased on occasion.

Pass on this, HOMM6 was a buggy mess like HOMM5 and has the uplay rootkit to boot. The series pretty much died after #3.

Were the problems not fixed in the updates/patches?

I love companies who don't fix their already broken game, while still churning out dlc and expansions for mo money.

Ubisoft is now my most despised games publisher on planet Earth, these fuckin people are the definition of clueless.

Let's not even speak of Uplay.

If their is a Satan, it's running Ubisoft.

The name seems ominous to me, probably because it closely resembles Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness, one of the buggiest titles I can ever recall playing on release.
