As for the game, I still think the separate leg movement is unhelpful when playing with mouse & keyboard, especially when visually there is little to reinforce the relative difference. I know the older Mechwarrior games included it but I still think it could have been done better. It might just take some getting used to but a ten minute playthrough told me all I needed to know about the game - it may get better but it's not worth the effort when there are so many better games out there. MWO uses a lot of the table top rules for things. Basing the whole game off a 10 min experience isn't really a fair assessment. Personally I think the graphics are just fine even for DX9. I've seen far worse looking titles carrying a 60 dollar price tag. |

Well this is the first "good" patch Ive seen these guys make. The ECM is a real game changer and the performance is slightly better now, playable on all maps now, yaay!
Cant believe I said playable in 2012, and this is with a pretty decent system...
Still a ways to go but at least the Devs listened and made performance their top priority.
Stability is still busted as hell as I had a CTD third game in... |

I still hate the weapon grouping method, which is just flat retarded, and think there is too little immersion, but hopefully these things will be addressed. You mean the arrow keys and right ctrl? Be easier if you could just click on the weapons groups that you want, but between grouping and chain fire setups, it's all pretty much set and forget.
The heat model in this game still chaps my ass, ERPPC's are as useless as ever. |
