0-day patches generally are a way to stop piracy/hacking, and if I recall the Wii U dev menu was accidently discovered on launch units, so most likely this patch addresses that as well as offering actual improvements. Supposedly a "mock" menu, but you know...

No, it's called fucking up and trying to fix your mistake... And you fucked up, Nintendo. That's why John Carmack says, only release "when it's done."
