Out of the Blue

One positive aspect of the expansion of Thursday Night Football is that when your team suffers a tough loss on Monday night like mine did last night, it provides more of an opportunity to try and put it behind you, as by this morning we are only two days away from turning the page and moving on to week 14. In the meantime: Ouch. I shudder to think what a terror RG3 will be after he's no longer a rookie, as he already has the game of a seasoned veteran.

I don't know much about it of course but what's so great about Luck?

Looked like he sucked last Sunday, a bunch of way off passes.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/passing/

Pretty poor rating and percentage. He has the yards but he's not beating Stafford there. Though he did win

What's so great about him is that he's a rookie QB, who is currently 8-4, and has had several game winning fourth quarter drives.

Seeing as how most rookies tend to absolutely suck, to see one who is playing well is almost enough in and of itself to call him great. Of course, let's see how he does in his sophomore year. If he remains at this level or gets better, he may genuinely become another elite-tier QB.

Not a whole lot, I'd say...:D

Anything they can do to take the sheeples eyes off of the real issues, they will discuss until blue in the face. They knew about ths fiscal cliff 2 years ago. And at that time, they also knew about the debt ceiling, etc. It was brought up at a WH press interview by some 20 something dork from CNN or some news agency. They ignored him and now we are where we are.

All of this could have been solved a year+ ago. Nothing good will come of it and the middle class will be punished while Senators, lawmakers, etc live in their palaces and have no idea what the real world is like, all the while pushing agendas and policies on the working class.....

anyway. cheers.

/in all honesty - allowing everything to expire and keeping us in the recession would be a good thing. A reality check is fast approaching. Our gubmint is the new housing bubble. Just as people couldn't afford 1M dollar homes, our gubmint can't sustain it's rate of spend without printing money and borrowing from China. What will make it stop?

Don't need to look far to be upset
US banks post $37.6 billion in third-quarter profits
Los Angeles Times - ‎19 minutes ago‎

Four years after a massive federal bailout, banks are recording near-record profits - a development welcomed by regulators but met with fresh demands by critics that the financial firms do more to benefit mainstream America.

I don't think his success will continue as teams start analyzing him more and finding weaknesses, etc. Or he may just flop next year like Cam has.

no way - that's such a superficial comparison. cam's never been a great passer. he's all physicality with rocks for brains; just a bigger Vick. RG3's passing stats show he's passer first and runner second. he doesnt need the wheels, but his accuracy and efficiency are better than Luck's, who's your supposed classic pocket passer. and if you watch him play, you'd know unless by design, he doesn't want to scramble. he stays in the pocket as long as he can before running. he's no 1-read and scoot numbskull like newton.

RG3's throwing stats are high because of his ability to run. Defenses bite on play action and option plays which leaves him with wide open receivers which are easy targets. He is a good passer but without his mobility and threat to run I highly doubt his passing stats would be as good as they are now.

ding ding ding. The "Pistol" pocket setup allows him to run like mad and makes the defense play the run. Thus he gets to pass....

So? Is that not valid or something? Does it count double if you just do it without the ability to run?

still far superior to newton who runs basically the same offense, but dumbed down.

and Mandy Patinkin (Saul) is a solid character/actor as well

He was such an awesome character in Dead Like Me. Saul reminds me of that character. I didn't like him in that serial he was in the last few years.

Eh, RG3 is gonna spend at least half of his career on the sideline with various injuries. He takes huge hits left and right. If he stays healthy, he could be a beast though.

Nah, not really. He's still just a hyper kid really, he'll settle out of that in short order. And if the Redskins continue to improve their team he won't have to make those sorts of runs anyway. also, some guys are just goddamned tough. Look at Farve's playing history!

It'll come, just a little later is all. I expect Jan/Feb/Mar to be brutal this year.

Both Luck and RG3 are just incredible, incredible QBs. Barring anything unforeseen, they are going to win quite a few MVPs between them.

RG3 is doing what he's doing on a team thats light years head of the Colts. IMO Luck deserves the Rookie of the year award. Colts are playoff bound, Redskins, very unlikely.

they're one game out of a playoff spot. i wouldn't call it very unlikely. they're also playing the best of any NFC east team right now. he may have a slightly better team than Luck (certainly not lightyears) but RG3's numbers also blow Luck out of the water, and the colts have played what could conservatively be called a vaginally advantageous schedule compared to the skins. there's just no way you can reasonably conclude you'd rather have Luck than RG3.
